This will be my second year of community college. Then I'm transferring to university to major in Chinese and linguistics (because... I like them). I was also very interested in journalism, but now the field mostly consists of writing short click bait articles for websites. Really my dream is just to go back in time 150 years and become a manual typesetter. Also, I'm passionate about art but I learned (through participating in some projects etc) that doing creative things professionally means having to work under someone and listen to their stupid ideas. Which I will never do with art  In my hs and a lot of American schools, there are not really options concerning what you can study. You just take all the required classes in each subject and only have choices with some electives and language. My school had French, Spanish, and Latin. I took Latin and hated it. Then outside of the classroom I realized how much I actually like languages. lol. I did badly in high school because of medical issues and also being bored with the crap classes... so I had to go to community college (thank god for them) first. But now I think I'll go to a very good university. And hopefully get a Master's sometime.
I know this thread is old but anyone reading who didn't graduate high school or didn't go to college and is feeling badly about it shouldn't. If you want to go to school/get education but don't have the money, community colleges (in the USA) are good options and you can get scholarships to 4-year schools from there. If you're not into college (or didn't even finish HS) but want to make money, honestly I feel like the vast majority of jobs that pay stacks don't require something like college at all...
