I think it depends on where you live. IP: Logged |

Ok here is my point of viewHere in israel picking high level elective (we have a system with difficulty level between 1 point to 5 points of a subject.... and 4 or 5 point subjects give bonuses) can get you pretty far and its very hard to get into university so bonuses and good grades are a bonus I would recommend studying something that interests you but also put an effort to collect bonuses so you wont struggle with college and have many different options I myself wanted to study on a specific life sciences path that teaches advanced biology, advanced biochemistry and biotechnology (all advanced 5 point subjects with fat bonuses that were interesting to me) but i wasnt accepted for lousy junior high grades (depression period) and i understood how having good grades and bonuses can get you to the places you want I ended up in industrial engineering (several combined subjects that mostly deal with math).... its a boring subject for me and im already gettin mad from doing stock charts, analyzing operations and planning costs and effectivity Im acing it though and the high grades and bonuses it has given me with my personal effort in my SAT test allowed me to reach the requirements to get accepted into several subjects i was interested in studying and in the university no less ( we have 8 here and its very hard to reach their standarts) What im trying to say is that you should take a look into many subjects to get a feeling of them since you might never know what might be a perfect fit...also what you do in high school will usually not be the main subject of your studies in college...and thats from the experience of knowing many people who do not want to do anything related to their electives I hope i gave you a decent picture from the view of a high school senior who is already looking into university and degrees ^^ If you want me to tell more or clarify dont be afraid to ask IP: Logged |

Brw on the sciences thing... learning physics biology and chemistry usually gives a good background of working in scientific, medical and engineering fields and i believe some colleges will require you to learn those subjects one way or another to get accepted into those fields If not then it gives a good background for you when you start taking your courses IP: Logged |

Hmm.. That's true.. But that's what I'm doing right now. This year I have Dance, Photography and Sewing as my electives. I really like Sewing so I planned to keep it just incase I switch into Fashion Designing. Hmm.. I chose photography cause it involved travelling and I likedthat idea.. But I wasn't enjoying it in school. At all. >\\<And maybe I should take those 3 science branches.. Just in case it's required. IP: Logged |

if you cant enjoy a science dont do it as it will just bore you....and if you cant deal with those in high school you wont go for those subjects in college anyway i do recommend to put hard work on math and maybe study other languages in any case ^^ IP: Logged |

;-; Nono, it's not that I don't like science. I LOVE science, anything nature related, (Chemistry, and Physics not really.. ._.' A BIT!) but then.. It looks really hard for my grade. ;0; IP: Logged |

Either way I'd still do it.. I just hope I won't laze off.. Even though I REALLY wanna work hard and study hard for my sake, I just have this bad habit of mines where I just rely on luck.. Only reason why I have bad grades is because of homework.. But when it's tests.. I ace them easily.. .____. IP: Logged |
