cub scouts - "Be Prepared"

angels - spiritual/divine energies, divine messengers

wooden - solid/solidified, unthinking, unmoving

seven - spiritual forces, cycle, completion

heart in flames - transmutation/purification, perhaps of feelings or some other "matter of the heart"

blackened Earth - destruction, end/beginning

hourglass empty - time is up!

rain clouds - looming emotional material

watches at 11:00 - it is time to watch, the 12th hour approaches

hit in forehead with watch - pay attention!, "watch out"

You may have a more personalized meaning for any given symbol, so keep that in mind and let me know.

I dissected the symbol "seven wooden angels" so you can see the component parts, but taken together this symbol has an almost prophetic feel. There are seven archangels, seven seals, and many other religious connections with the number, giving this an air of Revelations - perhaps a personal revelation?

I see "seven wooden angels" as meaning a destined path, a course of spiritual unfoldment already established (wood/solidified) and nearing some sort of cyclic completion. Perhaps this is karmic in nature? More clues are offered through what they are each holding. The message is something like ... the time has come (empty hourglass) for the destruction of the old (blackened Earth) through the transmutation/purification of the "heart" (heart in flames). The heart means something more specific, but I am not sure what exactly - could be emotions/feelings, love, relationship, etc.

Following the dream, more clues are given. In fact it seems that the message of the "seven wooden angels" is somewhat repeated, which helps for clarification. We are told of difficult emotional material on the way (sky darkens/rain clouds) and that the time for this is very near (11:00). It seems important that you be aware that these things are coming (hit in head with watch). Whatever is to happen is supposed to be, it is destined. It seems as if knowing or suspecting that this is part of your path, of the Plan, for the greater good, will help to diminish some of the pain.

The number eleven, as well as 11:00, also carries the meaning of transition, which fits quite well in this context. And because the subconscious is adept at bestowing upon symbols multiple layers of meaning, I must also suggest the possibility that the number seven could be a time reference as well - July perhaps? It is the seventh month, and also seven months from the time of the dream which was in December. Just a possibility!

Well, what do you think? Does anything here feel right?

I appoligize for my absence. I have a special needs daughter that was hospitalized last week. It left no time for this or anything else. She is fine now, a little weak, but fine.

I am so greatful for your analyis of the dream. It makes so much more since now! I too believe that it is "time" for me to "watch". And I believe that your idea of July may be right on the head. I have been having more occurances of what I dream happening the next day. I feel like something is about to give.(I will go into that later)

The connection of the number 7 and the beginning/end of something is what I have been thinking about as well. It is a change that I feel is getting ready to happen to me and will affect those around me. I have been having dreams of people looking at me in awe over something that is different. However, I never can tell exactly what it is. All I know is that their view of me has changed, not for the worse or the better, it has just changed.

Ra - My thanks too for your insight. Though I never remember much from the dreams I do get the distinct impression that what occurs is not apocalyptic. At least not for the world as a whole. For years IE and I have talked about something 'getting ready to break' in the situation surrounding us.Over the last couple of years the feeling has become almost urgent. I think the fact that we were both raised in rather hardline Christian families helps explain many of the symbols and the connotations they evoke. Also, we have shared our spiritual journeys over the years and lately we have been re-exploring our Christian beliefs and faith rather deeply. There have been other dreams in the last six months or so that apply to the dream we have been discussing here. IE would have to tell you about those as again I have no real recollection of them, just distinct impressions and 'gut' feelings. They have to do with seeing 'something' and thus being 'marked.'
I agree with your comment of the seven wooden angels meaning a destined path. I guess you could say that IE and I have known for years where we are supposed to be, it's just finding the way there that has eluded us. Which makes me think of something. I have been dreaming of maps lately. IE sees clocks, I see maps. World maps, state maps, city maps. There are always maps around me, though I am not able to say what exactly they are maps of. Strange that I just thought of that.

Pixelpixie - Never be afraid to get sappy, or tipsy. I have found that some of my greatest insights have come after a couple shots. (inhibitions lowered and such) Thank you for taking time to add your toughts. Every new idea is helpful and appreciated. It is so nice to share this 'strangeness' with others after so many years of it just being IE and me.

I feel that I must clarify on the re-exploration of our Christian belief and faith. The past few years have been wonderful and odd. If anything I think that this time has shown the mystical side of Christianity and has shown that what we know to be true can be backed by the belief and faith.

It was the being raised in a Christian family after all, that made me question all the things that I did not understand. Although I have been kicked out of many church's for asking too many questions and not taking what was preached as truth without proof, I am thankful for the foundation that my parents gave me from which I could explore,without fear, other beliefs and faiths.

Yes you are right about the Christian upbringing being a good basis. And just for the record I probably would have been kicked out of Sunday School a number of times for questioning things, but they couldn't really tell the minister's kid that now could they.
Sorry I wasn't more clear last night. I think that becoming parents made us really question how to raise the kids. And since the boys have gotten to an age where they themselves are questioning the world around them it has forced us to re-examine what teachings we were raised with and how we feel about them now so we can pass them on to our children with some confidence that those teachings will help them or not in life. I did not mean to suggest that we were "born again Chrsitians" (what a term ) I meant only that after years of searching through religions and beliefs we were not raised with we have begun to take another look at what we were raised with, and we are not finding it as unsatisfactory as we once did. (Does that sound better?)

Well, I don't know what it is that seems to be coming, but I am glad that some of what I said made some sense. Something just occurred to me ... I see the picture of the blackened earth and hear the word 'womb'. Does this mean anything to you Irish Eyes?

Thank you so much for all you have given to this discussion. IE and I can go over all of this a million times, but hearing it from someone else sometimes makes an impact more than anything we can say to each other. Hopefully I can get IE on the phone sometimes soon and I can get some comments from her to add here.

While she was here some things happened that might benefit this discussion, but I need her help to explain them. (Words fail me too often. Her ancestors kissed the Blarney Stone more than enough. )

Anyway...womb does mean something to me.

In that dream the earth was cupped in the angel's hands and I have always believed that anything that holds water was symbolic of a womb.

Does that help you any? I have more to write but the long trip has made me tired.

As much as I would like to dive into these things I feel that now is not the time. At least not until the meaning of these things becomes clear.
