I have several times awoken from a lucid dream state by my own doing (becoming unnerved and basically pulling the plug on my own dream and waking myself) or from being in just a deep sleep and awoken by external factors like a telephone ringing, and opened my eyes and seen these creatures. About three times they have appeared as large spiders that are very dense looking in a dark grey and black color and are about the size of a cat I would say. They are typically on the walls close to me and will even move into a corner…I stare at them in terror and then in about 5-10 seconds they vanish right into thin air. Needless to say this is one of the strangest things that has ever happen to me. But the last few times have been a bit different, I have awoken to see a translucent web made over my head above my bed with a translucent spider about the size of my fist in the center which also quickly vanished when I became focused.

Do you believe in that sort of thing? I don't want to put anything in your head and make it worse.

Also, if I were you, I would google spiders and try to find a pic close to what you saw.
Then I would look at the symbolism of spiders and see if anything fits.
Like: spiders weave webs, are you weaving any webs in your waking life?
Also spiders tend to hide in dark places, are you hiding from anything or hiding something from someone?

Spider weaves the webs of fate for those who get caught in her web and become her dinner. This is similiar to humans who get caught in the web of illusion in the physical world, and never see beyond the horizon into the other dimensions.

The web of fate also represents a wheel of life, which does not include any alternatives or solutions. It is typically human to get caught in the polarity of good or bad fortune without realizing that we can change it at any time. If we are not decisive enough about changing our lots in life, we may end up being consumed by our fears and limitations.

Spider is the female energy of the creative force that weaves the beautiful designs of life. Her web has hundreds or intricate patterns which cath the morning dew.

If spider has dropped from her web in your cards today, she may be telling you to create, create, create! Look for new alternatives to your present impasse. She can also be warning you that you are coming too close to an entangling situation. Spider could be asking you to use a journal to write out and review your progress. If you do this, you will not forget how you are creating a new or different phase in your life.

Spider brings a message of a different kind when she sees you becoming a bit too involved in the weaving of your life plans to notice oppourtunity at the outskirts of your web. If this is the case, Spider gets your attention so that you notice that something you have woven has borne fruit. Congratulations! Spider caught you just in time, before you missed the opportunity of the edge of your web or reality.

Ive done a bit of research but am not finding anything solid. The fact that it is frightening to see these things is only part of what is driving me to ask questions about them. I am concerned that they may be some sort of astral creature that is slowing down my spiritual progression by keeping my energy levels low, and I have even worse theories of course lol. I just don’t know what to make of them… sorry if I sound a bit paranoid delusional but things have been getting a bit dark and creepy in dream world lately and its freaking me out!! Any insights are greatly appreciated

Wow, you said a lot in your first post! Sounds like you have some good experience you can share with others here. I'm looking forward to hearing more from you. I hope things improve in your world.

Sometimes the spiders were suspended a foot or so from the ceiling and spinning their legs, other times they were just crouched on the ceiling and some had a faint colour to them and almost looked hairy or furry in a clear sort of way. but some were spindly thin daddy long legs types of spiders. It would only last for maybe 20secs at the most before it dissolved into a normal ceiling and I think it generally disappeared in an involuntary blink, so I if i could I would try not to blink and just take it in but that's hard to do when you have just woken up.

Another sensation I used to get but don't get anymore is I would do the same thing, wake from a sleep in the afternoon and see an invisible ball shape where you couldn't see the outer edge but contained in the ball shape, just sort of suspended in mid air, were all these tiny creatures. Sometimes they were dragonflies and other times butterflies and some creatures I can't remember but generally little flying things like humming birds or even centipede things. These ball things were there for less than the time of the spiders. And all the little creatures were fluttering and moving around nicely like about 30 or so in what looked like a 40-45cm diameter transparent sphere. But that only happened about maybe ten times. The spiders probably 50 times. I don't believe they could have been hallucinations or delusions as they were consciously seen for only a short while on waking. They were like made out of crystal with sometimes the faintest colours.

I had a different routine then and my children were younger so, when I could, I would have a rest in the afternoon so I had the energy to deal with making dinner. My children were all school age then and I seemed to get very worn out with just parenting then. I didn't always see these things everytime I woke up but often would, usually the afternoon rest was the most likely. Now my kids are older and I work a lot more so somehow maybe that has changed something. I wonder now if I will ever get those experiences back but maybe I won't now for some reason.
