So the latest one in this series that began when I was 5-6 (that is the earliest age I can remember) ...

This one was a couple of days before the last full moon on Aug 31, 2012.

In the dream I see a woman holding a baby boy in her arms. She's walking around a bit as though to pacify the child who's seems about a year and a half old. To me it seems that she's the mother of the infant.

She and I talk a bit about nothing much in particular, like 2 strangers do politely when they meet.

Suddenly she stops pacing and quickly hands over the baby to me saying quite emphatically, "here, he's your child, you hold him." So saying she gathers her things and leaves!!

I'm left holding the baby completely confused because I know the child is not mine, wondering why she said what she did. I'm also aware that the baby is pretty heavy as I hold him in the crook of my right arm. I start pacing a bit ... basically doing what she was doing ... and thinking that the child is sweet and yeah very healthy lol.

Throughout the dream the child is quiet and peaceful. Then at one point I turn sideways to look at him in my arm and I see that his face is actually hovering just above the right side of my head. This part is difficult to explain ... but I'll do my best It's as though the baby boy is still in my arms (because I can still feel his weight) but at the same time he's also hovering just above me.

And when I look at the face hovering above me, I see that it is the face of Buddha smiling down at me, in one of the most peaceful smiles I've ever seen on the face of a child/adult. I say child/adult because the face appeared to be both that of a child and an adult.

How did I recognize the face as that of Buddha? I have absolutely no idea. But as soon as I saw the face, I somehow knew it was Buddha. And even in my dream I thought, "OMG, that's Buddha!!"

I'm not a Buddhist, although I'm familiar with his teachings having read about them.

There are other dreams I've had of different Prophets, Gods, and Deities ... some as adults and some appearing as children. To give a few examples, Jesus and the Hindu God Shiva have appeared as adults and the Hindu Goddess Parvati has appeared both as an adult and girl child in different dreams. There are 2 dreams in particular that I may describe later because I couldn't understand their significance clearly.

For now I wanted to understand what this dream about Buddha means, if someone could help enlighten me.

Thanks so very much

Hi Linda! (As you said in the other thread, I have no "specialty" in dreams, but thank you for the invitation.)

What a beautiful dream. Do you have any sense of how you "knew" who these images were (Parvati, etc.)? Buddha I can understand, but Siva and Parvati are unfamiliar, to most Westerners, anyway. How do you view the importance of such spiritual figures in your life? (If you have discussed this elsewhere, please direct me to it.) Of course, you are one who is a very eager spiritual student!

Did you sense any significance at the time of those other dreams of specific beings? Any particular themes or concerns they might have highlighted in your life at the time? What does Buddha make you think of/feel? ...Do you sense there is an overall message here?

Do you think seeing them in child form is perhaps suggestive that you are to take care of and nurture those particular nascent aspects of yourself?

You don't have to address these, piece by piece or anything. I'm just throwing out possible jumping off points for you, if you find any use for them.

...That initial part, of the woman giving you the baby... Interesting. Will have to think on that one.

Hmm... Perhaps receiving back a part of yourself, or an awareness, that you've disowned and been reluctant to nurture? If so, why did you previously avoid it?

Hi Linda. This is what I am getting from what you wrote...

The woman you see is a representation of the collective unconscious, the spiritual "womb" which gives birth to your creative force once quickened through an act of will. The child represents the latent regenerative power within you that can lead you to spiritual wholeness. It is both extremely transformative and extremely vulnerable, and it contains the potential which will enable you to live your life with the totality of your being, utterly free from limiting ego.

When the woman gives the child to you, you are receiving a message that you are now ready to expand your understanding of the process of life and how this is linked to the splendour and mystery of your higher self. The baby is heavy because you are reluctant to "own" and acknowledge your capacity to receive transformational gnosis, and may feel overwhelmed and confused about how to go about this. The dream is telling you that this need not be so.

The answer lies in the baby/buddha hovering to the right of your head. It is well recognized in buddhist spiritual practice that there is a special correlation between the right ear and the receiving of superconcious experience. You are being urged through your dream to step up your spirituall practice so that you can manifest the transformational potential represented by the divine (Buddha) child ....... You can access this by attuning yourself to the vibrational sound of the universal mind which can be discerned in meditation via your right ear.

You are spiritually ready for this, do not doubt yourself.

Thanks Jovian!

Your probing questions have made me think as usual. I'll try and answer as best I can.

"If you have discussed this elsewhere, please direct me to it."
No I haven't spoken about this anywhere else.
.
.
"How do you view the importance of such spiritual figures in your life?"

In general I view all spiritual figures as different aspects of the same formless or unmanifest God. And I see religion ... any religion ... as a tool for the basic understanding of spiritual principles. I think all scriptures function as guides or framework. But since the spiritual journey is so individual for everyone, we need to be able to, at some point, move beyond what's written in the scriptures, into a more personal, experience-driven aspect of our spiritual practice.

This experience-driven aspect usually unfolds in different ways for different people (if it does at all). I think the most important thing to remember is to keep ourselves open to these experiences as very often we can block our own growth by trying to control the outcome of our actions. I feel that by being too focused on the results of our actions or even sometimes being too concerned with trying to do everything just so ... we actually end up shackling the hands of God or the Universe, preventing Him from acting in our lives and thereby limiting our own growth.

This, in a nutshell, is how I view spiritual figures and all religions.
.
.
"Do you have any sense of how you "knew" who these images were (Parvati, etc.)?"

Well, first reading about them has given me a basic understanding of what each means to a particular religion. I think this has helped in the recognition in my dreams up to a point. But sometimes, like in the case of a spiritual figure appearing as a child in a dream, I'm actually told in some way or another who the child represents in my dream. In a later post I'll describe 2 dreams where this happened.
.
.
"Did you sense any significance at the time of those other dreams of specific beings? Any particular themes or concerns they might have highlighted in your life at the time?"

Yes. Some of them have appeared at critical times when I've been grappling with intense anxiety over something very important like the health of a loved one.

For example the Hindu God Shiva who represents death and dissolution, among other things, appeared twice in two separate dreams, each time just prior to a close family member becoming critically ill.

When my loved one took ill (suddenly) the first time, I saw God Shiva a week earlier in a dream. I stood before a huge wide and very deep pit that I needed to cross, but obviously couldn't on my own. As I stood at the edge of this chasm, looking into it scared, He appeared ... first as a man offering me His hand, saying, "take my hand." I said, "no, you cannot help me, the pit is too big." He said again, "take my hand and stand on my foot, I'll help you cross." Still terrified I did as He said. But as soon as I stood on His foot, His leg grew into a long, giant limb which easily spanned the entire gigantic hole and landed me very gently on the other side. I felt bruised only by my own fears and nothing else. I knew that this was no human who had helped me cross the pit.

A week later when my family member took ill and was hospitalized in critical condition, I thought about my dream and it was during those days of intense anxiety that it suddenly hit me (still don't know how) that it was God Shiva who had appeared in my dream.

About a year and a half later, about 3 weeks prior to the same family member becoming critically ill again, I saw God Shiva again, this time very clearly as He is shown to appear in various pics on the internet. He appeared seated, deep in thought, under a large tree. Surrounding Him were a few people also seated on the ground around Him, asking Him questions. Again my family member returned home from the hospital after being very critically ill.

In both incidents above, I saw the appearance of God Shiva as a Protector from physical death.
.
.
"What does Buddha make you think of/feel? ...Do you sense there is an overall message here?"

To me Buddha signifies peace. And after reading Taineberry's response, I think there may be a two-fold message ... one which she has explained so wonderfully, and the other may have to do with again something (actually 3 different things) I've been grappling with for some time now. These issues have caused lack of peace to some extent and the appearance of Buddha may have to do with the peaceful resolution of these 3 things. One of the 3 issues has already had a resolution ... shortly after I had the dream.

I think the experience of going through the above mentioned 3 issues, is perhaps going to, simultaneously provide a platform from which to take a bigger dive into my spiritual practice. At least this is the sense I'm getting as I discuss my dream with yall.
.
.
"Do you think seeing them in child form is perhaps suggestive that you are to take care of and nurture those particular nascent aspects of yourself?"

I see children in my dreams very often, each time presenting me with some message. To me they represent openness and a pure form of divinity, also the ultimate in beauty. And maybe I see them so often because I can relate to that part of myself easily ... being open and vulnerable, that is.
.
.
"Perhaps receiving back a part of yourself, or an awareness, that you've disowned and been reluctant to nurture?"

Yes Taineberry has touched on this in her interpretation. Perhaps it is more of a hesitation to go deeper into my spiritual practice because of a lack of knowing how to go about doing it. Because I already feel like I've reached yet another plateau in my practice and am restless to move beyond, but don't know how.

Thanks again, Jovian for taking the time. Much appreciated.

Thank you Taineberry!! It's wonderful to meet up with you again since its been a while!

As Jovian has said, your explanation is truly wondrous! I read it over a few times to let it sink in. Everything you've said not only makes sense but also resonates deeply.
.
.
"... it contains the potential which will enable you to live your life with the totality of your being, utterly free from limiting ego."

This right here ... this freedom from limiting ego toward greater ego-less love seems to be the driving force behind my practice.
.
.
"The baby is heavy because you are reluctant to "own" and acknowledge your capacity to receive transformational gnosis, and may feel overwhelmed and confused about how to go about this."

Yes! Usually, each time there's a growth spurt within me, I happily settle into the "new knowledge" for a period of time. But then I begin to feel restless for more knowledge and growth, and start viewing myself as having plateaued.

For example, for the first six months this year I had one such growth spurt and was very happy reveling in it. But during the last couple of months or so I've been feeling that same restlessness again, deep inside me. I've been conscious of feeling like I want to take another step toward God, but have been at a loss as to how to make that happen.
.
.
"It is well recognized in buddhist spiritual practice that there is a special correlation between the right ear and the receiving of superconcious experience."

Thank you. I did not know this.
.
.
"You are being urged through your dream to step up your spirituall practice so that you can manifest the transformational potential represented by the divine (Buddha) child ......."

I see. Yes it makes sense.
.
.
"You can access this by attuning yourself to the vibrational sound of the universal mind which can be discerned in meditation via your right ear."

OK. Will do. It would also help if I allowed myself to be a bit more patient instead of impatiently wanting more and more ... quickly ...
.
.
"You are spiritually ready for this, do not doubt yourself."

I need to remember this. Self doubt is the biggest shackle of all.

Thanks so very much for taking the time, Taineberry. If you'll bear with me for a little bit more, the next time I can make time, I'd like to post a couple of dreams that I spoke about earlier in the thread, since I couldn't understand them fully myself.

So please ...all of you, do check in the next couple of days or so. I should be able to post by then. And I would love some more feedback. Everybody is welcome to comment, actually. The more perceptions there are, the closer we get to the truth.

Thank you, Jovian and Taineberry. My apologies for taking some time before returning to this thread. Your encouragement helps

Both of you ladies have amazing insight! So I hope you'll be able to continue to help me with the next two dreams. They've been boggling my mind since I had them.
.

Dream 1:

I had this one about 8-9 months after I met my TF (my conclusion that he’s my TF … haven’t proved it fully thro’ astrology yet ).

In the dream experience I walked into a room where my TF was seated in a straight-backed chair, without arms. There was no other furniture in the room, which was otherwise quite bare. I entered from behind him so I could initially see only his back. As I approached his chair from behind, I saw that he had a girl child about 5 years old, sitting on his right leg. Her face was turned away from me. Yet somehow I could tell that she was beautiful with a sort of an angelic kind of bright light surrounding her entire body. I thought to myself, “what a beautiful child,” and wondered who she was.

Then out of nowhere there appeared a second identical chair, a little bit behind and a bit to the right side of the other one. I sat down in the chair and didn’t do much else other than continue to absorb the light and beauty of the child from behind my TF’s chair. No word was exchanged between us.

Then, silently my TF turned toward me and handed the child to me by placing her on my right leg. He turned around in his chair to resume his initial position. We both sat silently for a little bit (maybe a few seconds or a few minutes, I don’t know). Initially the child’s face was turned away from me and I could only see her profile. But I was filled with the awe of seeing something so extraordinary and felt completely at peace with no particular desire to do anything.

Then, still seated on my right leg, the child turned her face toward me, and, with the utmost gentleness, placed both her little hands on either side of my face saying twice, “Parvati is coming, Parvati is coming.” The dream ended there, but I knew immediately that this child was herself a personification of the Hindu Goddess Parvati. However, I still cannot understand the significance of this dream sequence.

Second dream sequence continued below ...

Continued from above ...
.

Dream 2:
.
This one happened some time after the one described above. I was going through a period of feeling very disheartened and pained, mostly because my relationship with my TF was going through many deep changes, which were quite difficult at the time. So I wasn’t feeling my usual inspired self and didn’t feel like doing much of anything in general.

The dream experience began with a group of children knocking at the front door. I didn’t feel like opening the door, but the knocking persisted. When I couldn’t ignore it any longer, I opened the main door and, through the outer glass door, motioned to the kids to go away, without even wondering what they wanted. I watched the group slowly leave chattering among themselves.

But there was one little 5-year-old girl who lingered in the porch. I noticed she wore a very pretty dress with a flared skirt down to her knees, and seemed very poised for such a small child. She had almost an adult expression on her face. She stood with her hands behind her back looking at me through the glass door …looking serious with a poignant air about her. Something tugged inside me and, as she slowly began to turn away to leave, I opened the glass door and said, “What is your name?” She looked back at me saying, “Uma, my name is Uma.” Then she began to walk away. In the dream I seemed to know that the Hindu Goddess Parvati is also known as Uma (even though in real life I did not know this). So I called out to the child, “do you know that Uma is Parvati’s name?” “Yes, I know,” she said over her shoulder. As I closed the door, I was left with a feeling of surprise wondering how the child knew about her name being connected with Goddess Parvati.

The dream continued, with my having to go over to a friend’s house to check up on some things in the house, requested by my friend while she was out of town. I found myself inside the friend’s house checking to make sure everything was locked and the windows were intact. As I was looking around the house, at some point I became aware that the same little girl I had seen earlier, was also there, just silently watching me. She followed me from room to room, not saying anything. I did not feel any objection to her presence.

It seemed to me that I made several stops that day with the child present by my side everywhere I went.

When I woke up from the dream I continued to wonder who this child was and the mystery of her name. I was also surprised at why I’d told the child that her name was the same as Goddess Parvati’s name when in reality I had no such knowledge. I decided to look up the name Uma on the web, and sure enough, for the first time I realized that Goddess Parvati is also known as Uma. There’s even a story behind why she’s also called Uma!

I’ve thought about these two dreams quite a bit and still cannot understand them fully. Any help in interpretation will be much appreciated.

Hi Linda

I had a dream about your dream last night!

The sense I got about the first dream was that of the great love your TF feels for you. I smelt a fragrance about the dream which was very fresh, very pure .... and it seemed to me that the child that your TF gave to you was the gift of his love which is full of the same kind of purity. I felt that there was an element of sacrifice involved in his love for you, but I also felt that if he gave up anything or faced difficulties to be with you , then it was willingly done. You may find that your TF's feelings for you are not always expressed clearly in words, and this may be why you long to "see" the whole of the child's face - but you sense it anyway.

I get the impression that the second dream is an invitation of sorts. You were shut in your house, possibly symbolizing that you were "locked in" yourself at the time, not really being able to see much beyond what was troubling you and needing resolution of that. The children may have represented the possibility finding freedom from whatever was constricting you. The Parvarti-Child who lingered was inviting you to follow the way of Parvarti/Uma as a way to restore the joy in your life. Here, I think the myth is relevant in the way that Parvarti represents the ability to focus lovingly on what is important in the present without undue attachment to the attainment of a goal ... just to have faith that acting with love and with no thought of the outcome will reap its reward naturally in the end. Perhaps, while you were "shut in" your house and "locking up" your friend's house symbolizes that you needed at the time to let go of your desire to have everything signed, sealed and tied up in your mind. The Parvarti child staying with you seems to indicate that there was a part of you that knew you had to let go of a certain outcome and just act in love and faith.

Certainly Parvarti seems to be a key figure for you. It is uncanny how connected she is to your subconscious mind.

Well... I hope that this helped a bit. I feel wierd doing this, as I have no idea whether I am on track??? But thanks for your feedback on the other one, it did give me a bit of confidence to try this one.

Hi Taineberry,

Jovian is right! You do have a gift for intuitive insight!

In fact what you've said in your interpretation is so significant that I think I may have discovered something really important in my chart that I didn't know about before.

But first things first--
I want to begin by saying that it's pretty incredible you had a dream about my dream!! I hope I'm not clumsy about saying this but I think you probed really deeply and honestly about trying to get a sense of my dreams. For myself I know that when I'm honestly seeking answers from the Universe, they're very often revealed to me in my dreams. So thank you for devoting your time and energy. I'm very grateful.

"I felt that there was an element of sacrifice involved in his love for you, but I also felt that if he gave up anything or faced difficulties to be with you , then it was willingly done."

This is true. The sacrifice was, and still is, in the form of giving up a previous way of thinking and being. Which of course is not easy and hence the difficulties. And yes it was done completely willingly. In fact it was he who came up with this idea of "walking on a new path" on which he intuitively knew what he wanted to do.

I've touched upon this briefly in my thread on our many Rudra contacts in synastry--
.
http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum28/HTML/001067.html

iQ said Rudra means "irreversible transformation." So it made sense that I actually joined him in this change he was seeking, which for me has involved loving more, while slowly destroying the ego.

Here's another very interesting thread on Rudra being Pluto's fire by VenusdeIndia--
.
http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum28/HTML/001129.html
.
I think it's significant to mention that my Rudra is exactly conjunct his SN and his Rudra is exactly conjunct my SN.

The ongoing change in both of us (with all its difficulties) has been very deep at a molecular level. But he is the only man who has inspired this deep change in me. Consequently as I progress on this path, I find myself freer than ever before.
.
.
"You may find that your TF's feelings for you are not always expressed clearly in words, and this may be why you long to "see" the whole of the child's face - but you sense it anyway."

This is also true. Though he doesn't always express clearly, it doesn't bother me, as he's pretty much an open book to me. Sometimes I tell him about his own thoughts or even conversations he's had with other people because they play out in my dreams lol.
.
.
"I smelt a fragrance about the dream which was very fresh, very pure .... and it seemed to me that the child that your TF gave to you was the gift of his love which is full of the same kind of purity."

Now that you mention it, it makes perfect sense ... the symbolism of him handing over the divine child to me. And the purity you mention is absolutely on the mark. We both sensed this purity in our feelings right from the beginning. In fact it is this purity that has helped us through the difficulties. I very much feel that if this had been missing, we would not have lasted, given that we've been through so much together, in a comparatively short period of time.

Your interpretation of the symbolism in my second dream also makes complete sense.
.
.
"The Parvarti-Child who lingered was inviting you to follow the way of Parvarti/Uma as a way to restore the joy in your life. Here, I think the myth is relevant in the way that Parvarti represents the ability to focus lovingly on what is important in the present without undue attachment to the attainment of a goal ... just to have faith that acting with love and with no thought of the outcome will reap its reward naturally in the end. ...

... The Parvarti child staying with you seems to indicate that there was a part of you that knew you had to let go of a certain outcome and just act in love and faith."

All this is very relevant as, even though I didn't understand the full implication of my dream at the time, I intuitively tried to act without attachment to the outcome of my actions. This was the intuitive method I adopted in the increasing of the destruction of my ego. It also helped in maintaining the purity of my feelings.

And now for what you've helped me discover in my natal!!! I think the discovery is significant but I'll need your input to confirm as well as perhaps maybe even iQ's input, since he's from that part of the world plus an expert in this. Also, I'd like to understand what effect it has on me, i.e., what it means to have this in a natal.

"Certainly Parvarti seems to be a key figure for you. It is uncanny how connected she is to your subconscious mind."

It is this statement of yours that somehow got stuck in my head and kept replaying until it suddenly hit me last night! I woke up in the middle of the night (2 am) last night to check my chart for more connections to asteroid Parvati.

And I found a Star of David!!!
Actually I found TWO stars of David in my natal--Both stars are hybrids, i.e., made up of planets and asteroids.
.
.
.
STAR 1
1) There is one GT between Parvati, Kaali, and Sita.
2) There is another GT between Moon/Rudra, Shiva/Part of Karma, and Saturn.

The 2 GTs above are not connected (orb of about 10 between them). But after doing some quick research I found that according to Cafe Astrology ...

.

quote:
As this configuration is very seldom formed, a number of astrologists consider that a Star of David occurs even with two unconnected Grand Trines."

What I find significant in the second GT is that Shiva, Rudra, and Saturn representing masculine energies, are present in feminine signs showing a balance of the masculine and feminine, which according to some astrologers, is necessary to bring about a shift in consciousness.

.
STAR 2
This hexagon is between Parvati, Isis, Kaali, krishnan, Sita, and Jupiter (all sextiles).

I tried looking up Star of David and couldn't find too much info so if anyone can help with links and/or insights, I'd love to know more. Perhaps I should also post this in Asteroids to get more info.

Regardless, the interpretations of my dreams have helped me discover this in my natal. I'm excited and very grateful to you Jovian and Taineberry. Taineberry, your insight especially has helped me solve this mystery of my connection to my Parvati dreams, and, in a sense even to my Shiva dreams.

This is what iQ said about my Buddha dream--
.
"Why did you see Buddha? Perhaps you were taught by an incarnation of Buddha [called Bodhisattva I think]"
.
And this is what he said about the stars of David--
.
"These trines are pointing to Kundalini Energy Rise being fated for you by balancing Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine Energies, with the Asteroids showing "Sadhana" or Spiritual Practice done using specific Tantra Yoga under guidance of a Vedic Guru or during a Vedic Lifeline."

I think it's mind blowing to actually find a connection between dreams and astrology.

I've posted further analysis in the thread in Asteroids Forum.
