Gosh this seems to be a thread just for me. Tbh I have a really unique connection to my dreams and it's something I don't talk about usually at all because it is quite rare but I used to lucid dream for most of my life and that was a norm. I never knew it was rare and that people tried to do it till I was around 14. My lucid dreaming has decreased quite a bit as I grow older. However, I have had some dreams come true or I've had visions of myself that I only realise to be true later down the line. For example, I used to see myself looking in a certain way and although I knew this was me, I did not look like her at the time as a child but I found myself thinking about this a few years ago and I realised I had manifested into that version of myself I used to see in my dreams. And there were very specific similarities too. In terms of sleep paralysis, I've only had it once and I had my eyes closed (thank God). I really thought I was going to die but I managed to force myself out of it. Never happened again. Idk in terms of supernatural things or whatever entities there may be, I am acutely aware (I used to be quite afraid as a child) and I'm always surprised there hasn't been much interference negatively. I used to have nightmares a lot especially as a child, afraid of the dark etc. Nightmares were the norm and I had tried many things. I would reoccurrence of nightmares like each nightmare was a new episode of this story. IP: Logged |

This one is ffed up.In early high school (15 yrs old) I dreamt of myself as an old woman. I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror... and I could not recognize myself and worse than that, I had no prior memory of anything and it was so difficult for me to try to remember ...anything. I had a feeling of pure horror and desperation and woke up. When I woke up I remember telling myself: "Damn, Lord, this is the worst illness to ever have. Losing yourself. Dead but alive. I hope this never happens to me." I am 21 years old now and it is kind of happening to me. Ive been going to therapy for a while now and my psychologist helped me understand what is going on.
I have depersonalization-derealization disorder and it was officially said today. I am working on this. Its a coping mechanism because of PTSD and trauma. IP: Logged |

Hi ilunatique. I'm all for therapy. What I'm not for is diagnosis "for life". However your condition, situation or problems might be termed, I would suggest it might all be dealt with and cured. I do know one person whose situation is beyond remedy at least in this life time. Even he struggles a lot to better his condition as much as he can. But he is an extreme case, and this may not necessarily be your case. I am not versed with all the facts nor with the knowledge to address them, so of course I cannot know that for sure. What I do know is the human spirit has capacity for enormous achievement, and psychological conditions are more curable, broadly speaking, than the multitude suspects.IP: Logged |

i have a new one here.last week i dreamt all kinds of stuff that i don't remember. exactly before i woke up, someone was looking at me and said "Did something happen to you? You look like you have your luck in the ground". That phrase stuck to me but i didn't give it much attention. In my language, we have a saying "You have your head in the ground" which means to be modest, not so overachieving. But the phrase with luck does not exist This week, i got the worst bad luck ...., my research paper got denied in very short time for this summer session and i still need to work for it until winter. really got my luck in the ground with that event. i wanted to overachieve it all IP: Logged |

Good luck with your renewed effort, maybe you'll have fresh ideas to turn this event around into good fortune for any future career. See how much you can save from your initial ideas, and maybe that will save you some work, hopefully. 🤞IP: Logged |
