Ok, I have a new one.

When I was in this old relationship, I would often dream of snakes. Never knew why.
I once had a dream of seeing a snake eating a dog completely and I tried to get the dog out of the snake. But the snake oftentimes scared me too much to be able to touch it. It was unpredictable and powerful. Meanwhile, my ex had dreams of the dog eating the snake, and him trying to get the snake out, the other way around!

In the past 3-4 days I thought about pulling Lenormand cards on the energy between my ex and me in general for practice and curiosity (still learning Lenormand). Lo and behold, I pulled Snake card on his side and Dog card on my side exactly next to each other. And I read:

"A Guru or leader (Snake) and their follower (Dog). To follow someone very determinedly; to always submit to someone else's wishes"

Only when I pulled the cards and saw them, looked into their meaning, I remember the dream and many moments when I dreamt that snake. It was my ex and that description truly summed up our dynamic. He was like a cult leader to me, he was a Gurdjieff Fourth Way student, powerful and drew me in, consumed me. But when I tried to assert my way, my thinking, he would punish, block, and hurt me.

The last time I dreamt of my mom (some months ago), she had a very deformed face. It stuck with me. I could not recognize her, her eyes, nose and mouth were all swirled on her face and all wrong.

A week ago I checked her writer profile online and she wrote this:

SELF PORTRAIT

Looking at me, I remembered my childhood, when I put a 25-coin coin on the rails and waited for the train to pass over it. The metal was deformed, signs of any kind of deformation were hidden in it. It was no longer good to exchange for a candy, but instead to sit in the coin jar for a while, then end up in the trash. This is how I feel, when it seems that an unknown force has imprinted life on me, without the right to appeal, until it merges. We deformed each other because I don't know which one of us became the other and what use we have anymore, if any at all.

Its been passing in my mind for a while now, so why not to share. This hurts.

There are books that help guiding you toward lucid dreaming. It is something else, but if you want to gain control over the process of dreaming, they might aid.
Meditations can also be a great way to gain control over your consciousness. You can, with time and practice, get into a state where your brain's wave length would indicate you being asleep, all the while you would be quite awake.

Concerning the 3am hour as being the darkest - that's an interesting info. Taking all this into account, I would remember that light is forever way stronger than darkness, in whatever hour, and point to the fact that scary as these experiences were, you got out of them unharmed. The darkness rules through fear, but light is never too far away from you. All you need is faith, and even without it you're ultimately safe. So I would suggest you bare this in mind when waking at 3am.

Also, darkness is where everything stems. Darkness is our mother, light is our father. So yes, what is bad stems from the dark and light can banish it.

The thing to do is to connect with your solar plexus, that is the secret. Shine a light from within, focus the light or spread it around you like an egg and it will protect you. You can meditate to find this place within you, use the sound of an octave to find the solar plexus sound, imagine it in your mind, imagine it opening, spinning, creating light and then set your intention "anything that comes near my light with the intention of harming me will be burned away." See it burning away all negativity trying to reach you. You can even push further to cleanse your space, whether your room or your house entirely. Continually meditate on this if you experience nightmares or anything worse than nightmares.

If you encounter something controlling someone else, they will test this boundary. Believe in the light, in our father and you will always have light in the dark.

Don't fear the mother though, she allows you to be everything that you are as well. She loves you, darkness is not evil.

I'll occasionally have dreams that turn out to be true.

Once dreamt I was standing across the street from the house I lived in and stuck in place. I watched someone crawl through my window. When I woke up someone actually had crawled through my window while I was asleep and burglarized my home.

While not on speaking terms with a particular friend, I dreamt I found out he and his girlfriend were pregnant. After a year give or take, I ran into that friend after his relationship had ended and found out that there was in fact a pregnancy (which they did not keep).

Dreamt my first engagement ring was ruined but there was no sound in the dream. Went to pick it up the next day and the same exact scenario played out as it did in the dream, except with sound.

I've also often dreamt of people very shortly before they contact me, even if I haven't spoken to them in a long time.

This just happened and I am seriously asking myself whether this really happened in the astral realm last night..

Last nights dream:
I was in a beautiful party gown, looking very beautiful and confident. I was at a party but didnt knew what was about really, and neither did I care because I was minding my own business. Feeling very confident, I just walked around the ball room filled with people doing my own thing.

The day after:
I see on Facebook a photo of the EXACT ballroom and colors of it from my dream. It was the wedding of some friends last night. IRL I didnt go to and I DIDNT KNEW ITS DATE EITHER. I did not go because my father invited me a long time ago and since June I cut him off completely from my life.
Having no idea about this… this is crazy

There's no reason to be afraid of sleep paralysis. It's actually a common prelude to an OOBE and if you relax and let go of your fear, you can exit your body and generally the scene will change. If you confront the object of your fear directly with light, all the better.
Nothing in the astral actually has power over you unless you allow it. They can only test your boundaries.

Oh, and I just realized something about the sleep paralysis episodes happening at the same time every night.
We actually go through a few sleep cycles if we sleep for at least 6 or 7 hours and our brainwaves go through stages during each cycle as well. It's only after we've gone through Stage 1, Alpha brainwaves (meditative state), Stage 2, Theta brainwaves (trance state, lower frequency), and Stage 3, Delta brainwaves (deep trance, hypnosis state, even lower frequency), that we enter into REM, where we experience Alpha and Beta (higher frequency) brainwaves, just like when we are awake, EXCEPT the muscular system is paralyzed.
You are likely tuned to waking up at that particular sleep stage each time you go through it, for whatever reason. (I like to think the higher self is trying to give us cues to wake up to our spiritual reality.)

Up to that point is the scientific understanding.

When I think of it in OOB terms, what I'm starting to realize is that different OOB experiences happen in different brain wave states.
The sleep paralysis phenomenon is a prelude to an OOBE while in the REM stage, and is probably the easiest stage to start from because the physical body is paralyzed. Generally people become afraid if they wake up in this state because they don't know what's happening. The feeling of being pressurized is just one of the things that can happen when you are phasing out of sync with your physical body.

I actually just had an experience with sleep paralysis last night because I've been thinking about this so much lately. It gave me a lot of insight because I was able to draw some parallels to other experience I've had.

I'll post it tomorrow.

My only experience with this is dreaming about the Anastasia cartoon movie commercial when I was a kid. In the commercial they were all like "the Orphan Princess" The animation style was there and this is before I started seeing adds for the movie.

Funny, 1-2 weeks ago I dreamt that a stranger knocked on my apartment door. The stranger started screaming that they are from the police and need to investigate the house. My partner opened the door but I told him not to, long story short the stranger stole some things from our house and I was upset. My boyfriend then took a gun and tried to fight him but lost.

I told the dream to my partner and he assured me that he would not open the door in cases like this lol

Today it's the first time since we moved here when a stranger knocked on our door, saying that they are looking for the old owner. My partner spoke with him through the door and ignored him in the end. We laughed about it because a few days ago he bought an airsoft gun and he had one now just like in the dream just in case
