So I happened to be downtown yesterday...these pictures don't do it justice, but definitely shows a huge gap in the city. Defintely looks empty... IP: Logged |

Oxychick,Thank you for the pictures. Every time I visit NYC and drive on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway or over the Verrazano Bridge, I cringe. It feels like a part of me was ripped away. Heck, I watched it being built. My children never knew New York City without those two buildings. I, for one, will not forget what happened on September 11, 2001. Thanks again, Maria IP: Logged |

Hey Oxy, have they started any ground-breaking on that new World Trade Center Plan?I read about it on CNN.com, it will have the tallest structure ever built by man, a tower that goes to 1776 feet, in observance year of American Independence IP: Logged |

Oh yeah, LL, and supposedly the governor will have an office in there. *rollseyes* Like the govenor will EVER set foot into that new building beyond the first day.Actually, LL, I saw so many different things about different plans for the site. But any of them to a New Yorker in the planning stages just won't be good enough. Maria, I know. The towers were built in the early 70's I think, before I was born though. So I've only known NYC with them. IP: Logged |

Haven't been to this forum in awhile but I just wanted to pop in for a few minutes. Looks like things have quieted down some here. Oxy, those pictures are really eerie to me. I used to commute out of the WTC and have not been "downtown" since before 9/11. Gave me chills to look at these. sigh.....very emptyOn another note, I hope everyone here is doing well. IP: Logged |

I had to go down there again this morning and I ddin't realize how little those pictures do for it all. The space is HUGE...GIGANTIC. And it was a little blurry out today..very eerie, indeed. Ok, I know I keep drudging this up. Sorry. IP: Logged |

Thanks. I used to have others up, but they've apparently disappeared. Stuck at work waiting for the system to gain some speed so I can watch Casablanca by the river tonight. IP: Logged |

I can`t see them either, but the hole in our heart is louder and clearer than a picture could portray. I always watch for it on 'Friends' and every time I see it, my heart jumps and I say a prayer. IP: Logged |

Yes, it's all a NY conspiracy, jwhop Nah, my friends and I were going to atch a free shwoing of Casablanca by the Hudson River last night, but it rained so we just wandered abut the village and had a great time anyway. I'm paying for it a little this morning though. Oh, if I ever get a website I'll repost the pics. I don;t have anywhere to put them to link to them. IP: Logged |

I love a good conspiracy. As long as I'm on the inside! I wondered if you'd discovered holographic image projection! Fun now, pay later. A time honored tradition. IP: Logged |

Work something out. Well, that's a relief. Hate to be on the outside looking in! Nay, we don't have to have things our way, the *right* way will suffice! jwhop IP: Logged |
