The CIA, IMO, sounds very intruiging. I have hardly any family ties, am great with languages, and have a wanderlust that will be the death of me. To be able to travel around the world, in the shadows, observing and knowing so many secrets does greatly appeal to me. But then obviously it is a very corrupted, elusive, and dangerous branch of the government. It would be an incredibly lonely life too.------------------ "All you have to do is decide what to do with the time that is given to you." -J.R.R. Tolkien IP: Logged |

yeah.. I too wanted to be a secret agent when I was younger and had watched one too many spy movies. All the mystery, drama, action, uncovering secrets, travel to distant lands, a lover in every port.. . uumm..Yeah. So I wanted to be James Bond...um..er.. make that Jamie Bond or something really exotic like Nastasha. ooooo..CIA pretending to be KGB pretending to be CIA..getting to speak sultry sometimes scary Russian.. that was my youthful fantasy. I've come a long way since then.. Now I can't imagine being trapped into a life of mortally dangerous service to authorities that are all too often corrupt. *shudder* Or even worse... pushing pencils for them..ugh. I would be bored to death. Yeah..so I still haven't ever heard what Linda did to deserve the scrutiny of the CIA..or wait..maybe I have.. Is there a thread in Linda's Life about it, Randall? Something involving a yacht or big boat of some kind in the 60's and the Brewer fellow? IP: Logged |

Maybe I already am. ------------------ "The stars which shone over Babylon and the stable in Bethlehem still shine as brightly over the Empire State Building and your front yard today. I personally wouldn't do it. Wouldn't join the armed forces for the same reason: your life is not your own anymore. No freedom, no privacy, no 'me-time', lots of other things are lost too.It would be an exciting life, but not the one for me. ------------------ *I use the whole sign system* Personal Planets: Sun, Mercury: Libra Venus: Scorpio Moon: Cancer Mars: Capricorn See my profile for my complete chart. I would work for CIA with my 25/7 life path. I enjoy working for government. I might move to America and work for CIA after I get my business law degree. I don't know if they hire older at 52 years now.IP: Logged |

Not CIA.. But I was selected for an interview at the Communications Security Establishment(CSE) in Canada, it's similar to the US counterpart the NSA. Good thing the interview didn't go well, the next stage would have involved being rigged to a polygraph machine and answering questions they socially engineered. The hardest part during the polygraph is when they'd ask you questions of loyalty to the current Prime Minister, people with political biases would instantly fail. You can't have or express any political biases, you sorta have to follow the executive order regardless if the Prime Minister is left leaning and your politically right or vice versa. Next once hired you can't mention that you work for CSE on your linkedin. You can only mention that your employed by the federal government or employed by a generic department that's coordinating with you for your current assignment with like Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), which is similar to the FBI in the US. I'd assume becoming employed for the NSA or CIA whould be very similar. My Planets ========================================= ☉‘ ♊, ☽ ♈, ASC ♑, ☿ ♊, ¡÷ ♉, ¡ö ♋ , ♃ ♒, ♄ ♏, ♅ ♐, ♆ ♑ IP: Logged |
