Well, you missed a lot of stuff. Who can say it made any difference in who and what you are or not? I personally doubt it myself but then I'm a first class cynic. Lady Chatterley's Lover was the so called hot book when I was in grade school. The school library didn't have a copy (of course) and when I finally got around to thinking about the public library and read some of it, I wondered what all the fuss was about. They wouldn't let me check it out so I had to read it there and must have missed the "good" parts. Hmmm, strange what parents tell their children and how well it sticks in their minds. Watching TV will rot your brain, kissing boys will make you pregnant etc. Maybe that's why some women still run from their Frog Princes jwhop IP: Logged |

You`re probably right jwhop The dirty book of choice for me in grade school was Catcher in the Rye. Swiped it from my Aunt, read it cover to cover.... It made as much sense to a 10 yr old as Latin read redneck style did. Absolutely so over my head I figured it was a conspirasy against the kids to see if we were reading what we were told NOT to read. It was kinda like a punishment to suffer thru the whole book to find no good parts much less rhyme or reason. Threre was no way on Gods green earth anyone read it for pure entertainment. I was into conspirasy theories early in life juniperb IP: Logged |

No doubt that as books of erotica, many of those so called hot titles fell a little short. Everybody needs at least one good conspiracy theory. I'm still searching. jwhop IP: Logged |

Hmm..I skipped a couple of grades in English/Literature and unfortunately 1984 was read and discussed in one of them. I should pick it up and read it.As for me, our 'erotic' books were probably the Judy Bloom books. I didn't read the scandalous ones though. IP: Logged |

How about God`s Little Acre ? That had me praying for the author cuz I just knew she was going to burn in hell. I should reread it as an adult & see if it really seemed so scandalous. Ya know, I`ve never read a Judy Bloom book now I wonder why. juniperb IP: Logged |

Well Oxy, I hope you got more out of Judy Blume's "Wifey" and "Smart Women" than I got out of "Lady Chatterley's Lover." Or were those the scandalous one's you didn't read? OK, here's some erotica for you in the area of conspiracies. This woman claims she was a mind control induced sex slave for the White House via a secret CIA mind control project. http://www.trance-formation.com/NewMain.htm Heck, it's too bad the Equal Rights Amendment wasn't ratified. I think at least half the high school guys I knew would have volunteered. jwhop IP: Logged |

Well jwhop...I only had the patience to skim through that...but, from what I could gather, her father gave her to the government for this life, she was threatened and raped by Dick Cheney, witnessed Bill Clinton having homosexual sex and snorting cocaine...blah blah blah, escaped from it all and now lives to tell. It's not that I don't believe our government is capable of committing atrocities, because it is. But hers is an awfully hard pill to swallow! IP: Logged |

Jwhop, you're a regular Prince Charming then? We should feel graced with your presence, your highness (oh, tell me your Leo self loved seeing that even for one second). Nah, the only Judy Blume books I read were the "clean" ones. Never read Wifey or Forever, although my friends have all told me how scandalous they are. On that note, some guy on the train the other day was reading a little cartoon booklet. He was sitting next to me, so I peeked over and saw that it contained x-rated cartoons!! Crazy. IP: Logged |

Geez, X-rated cartoons seems a little two dimensional to me. Seems to me that guy needs a dose of 3 dimensional reality. I'll leave that to someone else, "he's" not my type. Devil or Angel, Prince Charming or Mack the Knife, never know who's going to pop out and say "howdy" but on at least one occasion in a far away land, someone thought it was Prince Charming. "Hi jwhop, how have you been lately? You know, last night a friend picked me----- up and we were out driving around in a convertible ------ looking at Christmas lights and stars above. He made a comment about the charm of it all and I said, "It must be jwhop's oozing----------." I thought you'd get a kick out of that one, Prince Charming." We forgive you for doubting. jwhop IP: Logged |

Yeah Oxy, who would think Mussina would give up 3 dingers in 5 innings. Yankees came up a bit short last night. Guess they could have used Tino or even Tina in their lineup. You didn't miss much while you were snoozing.Tigers? Yeah, maybe Tigers on tranquilizers Hey juniperb, when you go 43W,119L and finish 49 games back, you should change your name to "House Cats" Or perhaps give those guys the mirror test. jwhop IP: Logged |

Well, we have our own team here in the St. Petersburg area---Devil Rays but if I were choosing a team on their logo, it would be the Cleveland Indians. I always thought their logo was cool. Oxy, next time you see Mussina you might mention he should try to keep the ball down in the strike zone. They won't lose so many balls that way. Don't miss too much of the game. Look what happened last night when you fell asleep. jwhop
