Round round get around, I get around Yeah-get around round round I get around I get around (get around round round I get around) From town to town (get around round round I get around) So if you're feelin blue (get around round round I get around) I'll get around to you (get around round round I get around) Some Aussies too (get around round round I get around) Were feelin blue (get around round round I get around) So I made a trip (get around round round I get around) To set some Aussies hip (get around round round I get around) Now I'm back in town (get around round round I get around) On my own home ground (get around round round I get around) So if you're still blue (get around round round I get around) I'll get around to you. Round round get around I get around Yeah-get around round round I get around.

Last time I was in the mood for Oz, I had a date to meet an Aries at Big Rock We were going to throw a goanna on the barbie and polish off some champers. We forgot to take into account the international date line and she got there a day too early. By the time I realized the time error, she'd finished off the champers and God only knows what else and had a major league hangover. Besides, there's too many Lion tamers of the female gender in Oz. Hey jjjax, it was an honest mistake, GW--JW. Could happen to anyone. All you have to remember is that between us, GW is the soft, compassionate conservative.

Well, "champers" is champagne in some parts of the world and that Aries woman introduced me to some other Aussie slang too Like, cobber, yarning, dunny, spit the dummy, Oz, stubby etc. Sure, no doubt you wouldn't confuse me with GW, I'm taller IP: Logged |

Logic, my friend, pure logic . Ol GW walks like he has a corncob up you know where & it would take tightie whities to keep it up there... Whereas JW`s jaunty gait is well, um jaunty hence no undies. cobber, yarning, dunny, spit the dummy, Oz, stubby... hehe! yeah us aussies love our slang. i have a french girl working with me at the moment, she loves our slang... she uses dodgey, smokeo, onya (adding ya onto a word is a pretty safe bet) and our words used to descibe alcohol... champas, stubby, schooner, **** , wineo, goon... and so on and so forth. when i worked at the olympic games 2000 my american collegues loved the word: kerfufal i'll leave you to wonder...must have been hard for GW to keep his pants on down here though, with john howards lips attached to his arse jax

Well, I'm sure glad you cleared that up juniperb---logical reasoning One day, when it becomes obvious to everyone that you cannot negotiate with people whose basic starting point is that their God says they can kill you for the single reason you are not Muslim and refuse to become Muslim, John Howard will be seen in an entirely different light by some protesting him now. On the other hand, if those planes had been flown into skyscrapers in downtown Sydney, the same people who are protesting John Howard now, would have been raging that he didn't take action to prevent it as they dug their dead husbands, wives, fathers, mothers and friends out of the rubble. oh man here we go! i dont know why i bothered coming back to this place. i hate the word obvious. and to say that there is a single reason for the hatred and killing? im sorry i disagree. we were all affected by sept 11, and many people outside of the us, including myself had their dead husbands, wives, fathers, mothers and friends out of the rubble. so think about that next time you asume that all this mess only affects your country because thats not the case (sorry but that really hurts!) but that dosent change my veiw of things, that conflict solves nothing, its a quick fix. thats my belief not everyones, and i accept that. i try not to take things personally, but its really hard to do, when because i hold a certain veiw of things i am pigon holed into not having any kind of emotional or personal relation to these terrible events, when its really very far from the truth. i wont see john howard in a different light, i understand his decisions, but he did not go about things the right way. thats what my problem is with him, my problem is with the australian governments structure. yeah there has been no large scale attacks on sydney (yet) though we are dealing with the fear of terroism too. my building is one of the two buildings most likely under threat and i deal with that every day. sept 11, didnt occur here, no, and the balli attacks didnt happen here either, but we have been affected, all in out own way around the globe. to say that things are obvious, that if this had happened if that happened you would see things differently. well horrible things have already happened and still are and we cant change the past. im sorry if i upset you with my ass kissing comments about johny howard jw! and bringg up any of this, i really am. but i think he is biggest ass kissing prime minister! and im not relating only to bush, i think he puts his interests before the australian people too often, and he follows too easily, and dosent think long or hard enough. but again thats my opinion! i didnt vote for him remember why i left this place now... jax IP: Logged |

jjjax, while you're remembering why you left this place, remember too that you're the one who started this thread down the current path. First with the comment that you were sending GW back to us---as though you have the power to send the President of the United States anyplace at all, and then with your gratutatius insinuation that Howard is a lackey of the President. Equal partners in the war on terrorism is the way I see John Howard, a man who has not one thing to gain personally and has absorbed a lot of abuse from the "so called" peace protestors for his committment to help stamp out state sponsored terrorism.IP: Logged |

jwhop, i did apologise for bringing it up. it was stupid. i was mucking around, i wasent being serious. of course i dont have the power to send GW back to the US, and i dont really have to much of a problem with him being here to be honest. I didnt say john howard wasent and equal partner, he signed up for that position and all the responsibility that comes with it. sorry for interupting your convo thread. i dont know if you guys realise it, but sometimes things can be so buddy buddy, that you make people feel unwelcome and un able to be themselves. people make mistakes, like i did, but you dont have to jump all over them as soon as they slip up. again sorry jwhop. maybe this time you'll hear it IP: Logged |

Not sure how to answer you jjjax, so I'm just going to say that I'd be happy to muck around with you anytime. Perhaps you've noticed that sometimes I'm an outrageous kidder. As for there being a group, well it may seem that way but I can assure you "the more the merrier" is in force here. I think one of the attractive features of these threads is that they often spiral off in a new direction. I like that personally, it adds a little spice so there's nothing to be sorry about. The world is full of opinion about GW, John Howard, Tony Blair et al. Love them, hate them or supreme indifference, it's really all the same to me. I have my opinions and I'm sure you value yours too. If we disagree, it's no reason to avoid the forum. In fact, I like to find out what people think and why they think what they think, especially the why. Sorry if I seemed to roar at you. I can be sensitive about a subject and insensitive in the response. jwhop IP: Logged | |
