Socialized Panama, too, and pushed back banking privacy. Much of what he did was expanded by Bush, Clinton, Bush II, and now Obama. But it seems to me that it doesn't matter what you do so much as it does what party you belong to when you do it.

He also said something about "outlawing Russia, we begin bombing in 5 minutes." Definitely horrible, but I laughed on hearing it. But I probably wouldn't have found it funny if I were there at the time and in the full Cold War mentality and all.

Have to agree with you Node. All hail RR..Ronnie.

There should be a war on drugs..a deadly war.

Libya should have been bombed..and Ronnie did it.

There should be a draft in the United States...no exceptions except real physical disability.

The little communist bast@rd Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua should have gotten a bullet from some special forces types for attempting to spread communist revolution in central America. I would say this little brain dead communist moron got off lightly.

Arms should have been sold and or given to the Contras. Ronnie just did it in a different way via a deal between Israel and Iran. Whether RR knew the details is unknowable at this point..but the point is, the weapons got to where they belonged and the bast@rd Ortega's communist forces got their butts kicked back inside Nicaragua. A very good result.

Of course Reagan helped Saddam in the war between Iraq and Iran. Exactly what should have happened given the fact Iran took American diplomats hostage and held them for more than 400 days and violated the sovereignty of the American Embassy in violation of International Law. At that point, "the enemy of our enemy...is our friend". Don't expect you to understand that though.

Actually, Presidents don't cut government spending. All spending bills originate in the House of Representatives...in the case of Reagan's administration, a democrat House of Representatives.
