Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg YOUR GOVERNMENT AT WORK Snorer in the court? Ruth Bader Ginsburg snoozes Justice dozes off during political redistricting hearing, colleagues let her sleep Posted: March 1, 2006 11:54 p.m. Eastern © 2006 WorldNetDaily.com Was it a case of dreaming of a better America, napping on the job, or just being asleep at the switch? Serving on the highest court in the land is apparently a tiring affair for at least one Supreme Court justice who caught 40 winks on the bench, literally. According to the Associated Press, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg snoozed during testimony today over political redistricting in Texas. "The subject matter was extremely technical," notes AP writer Gina Holland, "and near the end of the argument Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg dozed in her chair."
During a report by Megyn Kendall of Fox News, an artist's sketch of the hearing was aired with Ginsburg's head using the bench as a pillow. There was no word if there was any audible snoring echoing through the esteemed chamber, but the sleep session was noticed by Bader's colleagues who made a snap judgment to let their associate continue her slumber. "Justices David Souter and Samuel Alito, who flank the 72-year-old, looked at her but did not give her a nudge," writes Holland. The incident caught the attention of Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank, who writes: "At first, she appeared to be reading something in her lap. But after a while, it became clear: Ginsburg was napping on the bench. By Bloomberg News's reckoning -- not denied by a court spokeswoman -- Ginsburg's snooze lasted a quarter of an hour. "It's lucky for Ginsburg that the Supreme Court has so far refused to allow television in the courtroom, for her visit to the land of nod would have found its way onto late-night shows." http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=49070 IP: Logged |

Ummm, matter of fact, no. I do remember some leftist weenies speculating about Reagan dozing off but I doubt he ever did in front of an audience. Seems somewhat unusual for an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court to doze off during oral arguments in front of the Court. Wonder what she's going to base her decision on?...since she wasn't there...so to speak. IP: Logged |

You're laughing lotus because the imagery is so absurd as to be humorous. The Court is only working on the Texas redistricting case..which might influence the next election and change the makeup of the House of Representative. No big deal..apparently.Yeah TINK, do look that one up. If you had said Ronnie fell asleep in a staff meeting, I might have bought that one but not in an audience with the Pope. The Pope was an ally of Reagan's in bringing down the Soviet Union. IP: Logged |

My opinion..well condede, wasn't even in this thred, but you can ssume what you want to..as everybody already does.. only about 25% of what you read is true.. so I guess, all of US only have 1/4 of our eyses open, if you believe all this crap... jwhop, uses logic and common sense, perhaps that's why I see what he see's, he can read between the lines, so to speak.. if you go within, where God is in each one of US, them you will be able to SEE the Truth, why would you rely on humans..look where that has gotten US.. it's all a waste of your time, if you haven't found yourSelf, your lost trying to keep your head above water, spinning in the whirlpool of lies, human lies, created since the dawn of our creation, we have nobody to blame, but ourSelves.. for intolerance, judgement, injustice, hatred..all these things displayed here daily.. you hate the government, look at yourSelves, this is what we created..each and every one of us..no escape.. the blame lies with ALL And all have to Love and heal..and find acceptance..and honestly, stroking ego's isn't helpful, this is all about ego, that's what causes judgement, intolerance, etc, people think ing they are better than someone else psst. we are all equal, all God's children.. what a fine example we are..NOT IP: Logged |

Lotus I love you hon but I really can't agree with you there. I know what you're trying to say and that you're looking at the bigger picture, but in the case of the US government and the war in Iraq, as I see it there are only a select few to blame. Those who voted for Bush etc and those who didn't state their opposition to the war loudly enough. IP: Logged |

But come to think of it, let's not waste time on something as negative as blame! I'd rather we put our collective energies into sorting the whole bloody great mess out instead Gosh, how very 'bulldog' spirited of me! The world's falling down around our ears but let's all have a nice cup of tea! Sorry I've tickled myself with my own Englishness! IP: Logged |

hehe, yes it is hard to see the big picture..but until each person, seeks within, and finds answers and truth..well, then it's like the blind leading the blind..blaming isn't going to change it.. we need to do this on a spirit level, not human level, we obviously know that much..heheIP: Logged |

I'm game... Must be my Englishness too..
I am half Native American Indian, but also half English... My Mom's people are from England...great grandfather was born in Lincolshire... I've never been there, but have always had an attraction to all things English, from The Bronte Sisters...Charles Dicken...Jane Austen...Shakespeare...Anne Boelyn...The Beatles...Englebert Humperdinck...Tom Jones...to Princess Diana.... Not to mention Stonehenge and Sybil Leek.
