Retail outlets are really busy. That's unheard of in January. A very good sign.------------------ "Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all." Harriet Van Horne IP: Logged |

Ron Paul reintroduces ‘Audit the Fed’ legislation By Matthew Boyle - The Daily Caller | Published: 8:01 PM 01/26/2011Rep. Ron Paul, Texas Republican, reintroduced his “Audit the Fed” legislation on Wednesday, with 56 cosponsors. Paul’s office staff told The Daily Caller that though a “watered-down” version of his “Audit the Fed” legislation made it into last summer’s financial reform package from Rep. Barney Frank, Massachusetts Democrat, and former Sen. Chris Dodd, Connecticut Democrat, he wants the real deal, not just elements of it. So, he rolled out H.R. 459, “The Audit the Fed Bill,” this week. In the 111th Congress, Paul won broad bipartisan support for his proposal to audit the Federal Reserve, with 320 cosponsors, before the bill folded in the Dodd-Frank financial reform package. Paul pointed out in a press release that the Federal Reserve hired a full-time lobbyist for the first time in history during the 111th Congress because of unprecedented public pressure. “I was very pleased that so many of my colleagues were willing to stand up for transparency and accountability in government by cosponsoring HR 1207 in the last Congress,” Paul said. “I am optimistic about our prospects for a full and complete audit in the 112th Congress.” http://dailycaller.com/2011/01/26/ron-paul-reintroduces-%e2%80%98audit-the-fed%e2%80%99-legislation/ IP: Logged |

I can understand that. They don't want him to split the vote and give Obama a fighting chance. IP: Logged |

That may be part of it but Ron Paul is a small government, sound money guy and "establishment republicans" have proven they love big government and the fiat money pumping of the Federal Reserve. The only reason some of them are talking out of the other side of their mouths today is that they saw what happened to some of their big government, deficit spending, money pumping guys in the last election. But, they are what they are and voters have seen or will see their past voting records. IP: Logged |

Newt?Have you seen this Randall? It's promoting man made global warming and O'Bomber's Cap and Tax plan which would be the biggest tax increase in the history of the world. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qi6n_-wB154 When I saw it, I sent Newt an email and told him he's either intellectually challenged or corrupt and that in either case, there's no reason for anyone to listen to a word he says. He confirmed my opinion the other day when he called Paul Ryan's budget plan..."right wing social engineering". IP: Logged |

He was a big follower of Limbaugh at one time, and he and his Contact With America colleagues were vocally against the man-made hypothesis. I guess he got bought off. IP: Logged |

Well, it's hard to credit what's coming out of Newt's mouth these day when compared to what he was saying in 1993.It's possible Newt is trying to stake out ground other republicans are not cultivating but it's pretty clear to me he isn't going to grab off any O'Bomber supporters with his demoscat talking points. Could be but then again she may just be messing with press heads and enjoying bouncing them like ping pong balls. She had dinner with Trump...pizza, in NY City. He asked her if she's going to run and her answer left him thinking it's a 50/50 proposition at this point. IP: Logged |
