mannu, the power lines thing has been around for AT LEAST 20 years. makes sense that large concentrations of the stuff would affect those beneath. i dunno what the science says but i don't think underground would be much better. in any case there are radio waves, tv waves, microwaves, and so on, passing through you all the time! so, wot me worry?? another thing to stress you out and make your healthy defenses weaker.i'm not sure where you get the idea that war and fighting is such a wonderful thing. wars serve as human cullings, ie keep the populations down. in no other way can i see any merit in them. they destroy land, families, and countries. whoopee! exactly thats the argument i provided to her. i mean FM waves are less frequency and they pass thru your porous bodies without destroying you. Microwave can cook your body (very high frequency) but they have a short range. Power lines must be having high voltages and the magnetic fields must be extending many feets...Will google for it.but I wasn't sure that power lines were around for such short time. perhaps she thinks that after 20 years the government would say they are dangerous as is so typical of them -- may be she was trying to procastinate. Perhaps she wanted that green energy(wind , water and solar energy) to be delivered to the homes of her neighbouring counties and this way her beautiful wooded backyard views are preserved. Also this way coal does not have to burned releasing more CO2 in the air. All the power lines she mentioned from PSEG was ultimately using coal from neighbor state Pennsylvania. Was it 'clean coal' , I do not know. Guess what people want everything good and at the same time not willing to pay a high cost. I am for her. And appears even Gore/Obama as they seem to fund private enterprises with such 21st century ideas. The repubbers seems to indicate natural forces balances itself out and no global warming and all that. But some of those weird ones out there have no guilt in thrashing nature at the same time. war follows peace and peace follows war. so even if I do not like it, it is inevitable. its the nature of things.what I was saying was American soldiers are no longer fighting the way they used to during ww2 . they inspired so many in Europe back then. Modern ones are now more like machines with no brains of their own -- always carrying orders of someone. No wonder Obama seems more appealing to them than any war hero.

power lines themselves have been around for yonks...but there are more and more of them as we demand more power, of course! the FEAR of their effects has been around for at least 20 years, that is the first time i came across it.however tesla used to voluntarily juice himself with electric current on a regular basis, believed it was beneficial. so maybe the fears are for nought?? i dunno if the soldiers have changed that much but the wars certainly have. the first thing i did not like about obama was his liking for taking the war to afghanistan...another unwinnable war in the making. how many powers have been destroyed trying the same thing? when do they ever learn? Well everything is made up of electricity -- a flow of current between negative and positives , so I can understand getting healthy with controlled doses of electricty. The power lines seems to discharge lots of electricity and even the workers performing maintenance , if they are not dressed correctly can be charred to death. This is so even when they are not standing on the earth but working from a helicopter. But the liberal cry babies tend to scare most manufacturing companies away citing environmental hazard. I mean, I know towns that went jobless because someone complained about health hazard . This manfucacturing company had to shutdown or movesome where.
I think life choices are about balanced decisions we need to make. We have to decide what is best at the moment of time which keeps changing eternally. (corrected most mistakes) IP: Logged |

Don't some one also hate the amount of fertilizers being used in golf courses just to keep it perennially green for the wall street and other capitalist pigs? So much damage to the soil.*suckers* i wish we cut them up in to thousand pieces upon their death and strew it across the golf courses throughout our country as manure for the plants and trees. It's more of a financial boon than a crisis. Gore is making money by the barrels, yet he doesn't adhere to any of his own green rhetoric. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you."
