very thought-provoking, as expected. "The Pharoah’s robe is your nations’ shroud" why the reference to 'pharaoh'? which particular kind? "Treason lies within your reason So you find reasons for your treason" this line caught my eye. thanks! IP: Logged |

Meili, I don`t usually intellectually understand your posts, yet they create the proverbial 'baseball' lump in my throat. A yearning for something almost re-membered; creating a lonely void needing to be filled. Very hard to put into words, so I`ll stop. This strikes the soul chord as I struggle with the demon ego and the harm it inflicts to s-Elf and others.. Treason lies within your reason So you find reasons for your treason Seeing one enemy instead of two Forget not the one lurking in you I feel the poem speaks of ones ego and the demon therein. If not as a whole, at least, for me personally; thats the soul reaction I received... Thank you Meili juniperb IP: Logged |

Meili Zhiwei-Without intent to disrespect you whatsoever; I have to say that while I agree with juniperb's feelings exactly of: "A yearning for something almost re-membered;..." You're first poem had a darkness to it that was rather unsettling and I found that darkness disturbing (except maybe for the last stanza). I printed it out and showed it to someone else without saying anything and they gave their general opinion and they said that there seems to be darkness hanging over every word. I was curious as to whether you wrote the poem. And as I began to write this post; a rather creepy presence sidled up beside me. Could you please tell me what you think about what I said? And while I would never presume to tell anyone how to express themselves: could you please repond in non-enigmatic format so that I may clearly understand what it is that you are saying. (again, no disrespect) IP: Logged |

Meili, I should have, in the beginning asked precisely what I wanted to know. Is it out of darkness or light that you "operate"? When I spoke of the feeling I got from your poem I was speaking specifically about darkness that it emanated; darkness which is not comparable to the darkness in dafremen's poem because his poem speaks of darkness, your's emanates darkness. I enjoyed the imagery that your poem evoked, however I am referring to the energy that I and another felt while reading the poem.IP: Logged |

I believe our friend is either a Pantheist, Taoist or Buddhist. She is enlightened in any event. Her poem speaks of one of the most basic tenets of all major religions:Turn the other cheek. Forgive your brother seventy times seven times. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. She goes on to point out that our society fosters vengeful, competitive attitudes. Our leaders, our media sends it out in pulsing hypnotic sound bites and video clips. Democrat or Republican? Afghani or American? Raider fan or Charger fan? Black or white? Blue collar or entrepeneur? How many different ways can we be divided from one another? You spoke in the other thread of universal love being good in its purest form. What sort of reaction would pointing our fingers at, excluding or punishing the "bad" or "evil" ones foster in these same individuals? Would that bring us closer to the evil-free world you speak of? Saint Francis of Assissi said that where there is darkness, bring light. You cannot do that with much effect in a well lit room. I didn't catch any "dark" energy in that poem and it's not because I'm incapable of doing so. It's because I'm a pantheist and the Earth does not produce anything that it shouldn't. It produces what it does and we are to appreciate that which we have been given the opportunity to experience, be it pleasurable or painful. Question NOT that which your creator hath wrought. It's simply not my place to do so. I have some poems on the other pages here where I tried to capture the feeling of a pantheist's rapture: Be Alive To a tree I know Psalm of Wonder Psalm of Praise Psalm of Devotion The Call (Those are a few) Keep looking for the answers. That's how you do it. One step, one revelation at a time. Daf P.S. Mutual respect is the key. Not tolerance. Tolerate means to put up with. How presumptuous is it of us to assume that we are doing someone a favor by putting up with them? IP: Logged |

Thank You for your response. I myself am not of your belief system and do disagree with some of things that you say. I am not pointing any finger at anyone, I asked a pointed question because I would like a precise answer. If a precise answer is not possible, or not desirable then it just isn't. It is the teaching of many faiths not to question what the creator has put into being but I disagree with that and so I question freely. P.S. Going to look at your poems I really agree with what you said about tolerance but when people say it I can only assume that there is a different connotation to the word than the widely known meaning because I can't believe that people actually believe that tolerance...etcetera and so forth.IP: Logged |

In the end, what is a Taoist, Buddhist or Pantheist but a label used to categorize and define? To put people into a box so that my finite mind might more easily store and process these concepts in the limited space afforded it. We spend so much energy putting things into little boxes. He is she and she is he to me. We are one, come from the same place, headed back again. Light? Let there be light was the beginning of the cycle. Everything is made of light because light and dark is all that there ever is at the beginning of each cycle. Empirical science seems to have verified this. The cycles never end, they are eternal, as you are undoubtedly aware. True knowledge and wisdom lie with humility, not pity or well-intentioned empathy born of spiritual awareness. Have you been shown the nature of material things yet? Their consuming ways? The way they SUCK things in to themselves? Have you seen the same pattern repeated by our consumer society? We have patterned our behavior after that of the very dirt under our feet. Have the patterns of discovery, exploration, control and domination repeated at so many levels by the material mind been shown to you yet? Brain controls body, brain controls other brains, brain controls groups of brains, brain controls nations of brains. Do you see the earth, feel the earth? Her slow, steady throbbing hum? Have you been called to the Great Earth changes? Do you feel them? Have you seen the great wash of water come and the underwater crypts that are the cities? Did you rejoice for the living while you wept for the dead? I am lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to answer yes to those questions. I have been searching for others who have seen(no, FELT) the path. I am a breath away, because I have BEEN there. I am an ocean away because I have fought my cravings and they have beaten me down again and again. They will not win! I have walked in the light and felt the joy of oneness with everything. I will experience that treasure again. I have looked upon my enemies with humility and gratitude for having been freed from having enemies. All are my brothers, sisters, chained, blinded...enslaved. I will play my part in their liberation. I will perform my role in the great social changes coming and should I fail for weakness, the others that I feel are out there will succeed. You have my email address. Comparing notes would almost certainly be worthwhile. Daf dafremen@hotmail.com IP: Logged |
