All of this love, that I confess. Will you think that I'm foolish and unwise? Think I'm fraudulent and filled with lies? When I say,"I've known you before." Will you remember or shut the door? My soul cries out for the love it once knew, Longing and lonely, can't you feel it too? That space in my heart,your love can fill. I swear that it's true, Swear that it's real. Do I sound desperate, pleading this way? It's just that I'm weary,It's getting late. I thought that we had a date? One that would last well into old age. You and I, watching our grandchildren play. We asked for years together, not days like before. How I hated the war! It took you away for so long. I screamed and cursed fate, pleaded that it was wrong. And then there you were... On the stairs, surely God had heard my prayers. My soldier, so beautiful and brave, looking at me, so much love on your face. I've never felt it since... I grieve the loss and grow tense, remembering the end. The capture, the plan, and how we ran. Almost to the clear, the shots growing near. I looked down and saw your hand in mine, and then I watched myself fall... That was the last time I was with you on Earth. It sounds far fetched and crazy it's true.
