I recall a patchwork. feelings mingling with the stitches of time
The meeting.. under the circumstances, which seemed over animated, and I thought that was just you.. on a first meeting.
Little did I know it was you, upon meeting me.
for the first time

you.
and we are close
Closer now but I recall we've always been a little more special. a little more unusual, lingering eyes and they seemed to know. they seemed to show and you really can't hide the way they grow
fonder and deeper
And we did laugh a little more and linger over the ways to spend more time together
innocently
Then there were some dreams... unheeded.
Some welcome kisses a little heated.
but reversed.. I can't kiss you - even the cheek... for fear that my heart may leak.
Denial and devotion are slippery and fateful. maybe even faithful to themselves.
Now I recall the times where innocence was only a mask. The darkening blush on cheeks a task
to hide
the growing inside
sometimes I saw a perfect fit
maybe too perfect a hit
Did I will it to change...
Did you ?
And why
mess with the love we already possess
are we that greedy or needy
to put this love to a litmus test....
I guess I just don't know the rest
and rest is something foreign
as my mind is constant, the fantasy flowing

I recall a patchwork, when you say it has always been parts of me.. I think of the moments stitched together and stretched over the years and memories and know it has been parts of you.
But I am oversimplifying
parts of the quilt that have my hands flying
to finish the pattern
though I'd hate for the end to be recalled someday distantly
and deciphered by hearts who don't know
who can't understand
why this is right
in its place
and has my mind recalling your face
in every spare moment.
It is, in my mind a reason to smile
and share more fresh and new
we and you

I'd love to know as well.
It's funny too, because it feels divinely inspired.. which is why it feels so good to be praised for something so effortless... I mean.. not without effort, of course, but.....
I will say to myself... "I feel like writing".
and I will write.
It has always been this way. First draft, raw and passion filled.
I am always quite reverent when they are appreciated. Especially by people I care about. Their thoughts and opinions.
Maybe I will publish? Who knows.. I know they are special to me, but didn't know they could be to others as well.
Thank you for that.
