It has the distinct flavor of Edgar Allen Poe`s Annabel Lee. Don`t you just love him ? ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |

ah yes, Poe is better and I presume thats why he wrote "The Black Cat" and "The Raven" as well. Practise, practise, practise and infamey may be yours Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer, `Sir,' said I, `or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore; But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping, And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door, That I scarce was sure I heard you' - here I opened wide the door; - Darkness there, and nothing more.

Hey..I was 12 going on 13! Just a kid! Maybe I should not have posted it. Or rewrote it in a more adult and more refined manner! But...that is how I wrote it after I had the dreams that 38 years ago...so I felt that was how it should be presented. Oh well..... But I do love Poe. Infamy? That is funny! IP: Logged |

I call first dibs on the messianic label!!!! (just kidding, fayte. trying to make you laugh. )
that's a sad poem. Being as you remember the man's name, have you ever done a little historical snooping to see what you could find? IP: Logged |

It was beautifully meant to stay in that moment in time, I believe, Fayte. The poem from the moment, just as it was all reTurning back to you. Funny...I came across this poem tonight. I wrote it a few years back, but feel like it might have a place here. (?) Darling, I've waited for you for a thousand years In this dull, polished amber, held back the tears The highways eclipsed me The meadows grew far Time, a bereaved brethren of afar How I pace back the miles retrace every step, all the while the sacred memory of your soul, held warm against my heart.

Lialei One thing I have always loved... Amber...set in rings...amber perfume,incense...the sunsets with the ambered lights...especially over water or the amber light shining upon the hair of a beloved one. Or ambered embered firelight! Thank you! The sound and feeling of waiting and loneliness soul deep shows in your lovely poem!

Oh, yes, I understand that longing, Fayte All of my life, I've had this feeling of wandering lost with this knowing of what such Love feels like, but never find it again in this restricting reality here...only in the realms of my sacred memories within or until I return to the realms beyond the sky where it is possible. I know everyone probably feels this way to an extent...but it is extrememly strong in me. This poem just came to me, for no one in particular, as if I were writing it to a beloved of long ago that I missed terribly in this life. The feeling of sadness and an unexplainable yearning....Funny you should mention the amber. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, because I could swear you mentioned amber in your poem...just a strong feeling. When I read it, then I saw it was 'ember'. I had remembered it as~ 'amber of hope'. hmmm...strong feelings you have rekindled lately, Lovely Fiery Lady. Love to You! IP: Logged |
