Thanks for the kind words TINK. I am pursuing this actually. I called my city yesterday to find out what I need to do to start a business. I want to try to sell this stuff. The pic at the top of this page is annoying me now, because it looks like I forgot to level it, which is rare for me. It is a nice hilltop to take pictures from. It's not framed great, and I messed with it too much. It was raining at the time, though, and I had a friend waiting in the car. IP: Logged |

Tips ~ I don't have many, since I'm still learning myself..You could try visiting the forums at WetCanvas; they have a photography section in the forums. Expressions is a host site for photoblogs ~ they used to have forums. I can't remember the new site that they recommended - if I'm remembering correctly that it was them - and I'm not on my own computer right now, so I can't look it up. There are a lot of photographers there, though (obviously). "Dooce" Effect ~ how to add a "glow" to your photographs. I haven't tried this yet. I'm trying to remember how I warmed up some of my black and white images ~ I think it was adjusting the colour tone to "Sepia" in Photoshop Elements, then clicking the option to make it black and white. That tip came from an Expressions user. Amelie Effect ~ another one I haven't tried. The creator shut down her personal site a few years ago, but has another at http://www.chicagouncommon.com "Amelie Effect Images look like they came from the movie Amelie. This action creates a new layer that can be adjusted to your liking. It gives your photo a similar color adjustment as seen in Amelie. http://share.studio.adobe.com/fsroot/7409/6005/Amelie%20Effect.atn http://members.aol.com/runswiththewind3/Page132.html That link and the downloadable brush/option is the only thing I could find that might help create it. You could also try contacting the author at her site, but I could have sworn there were instructions on more than one site.

http://www.planetphotoshop.com/ http://www.apparentlynothing.com/faq.shtml "redscreen" mentioned on Lorissa's site, is the website I was looking for concerning the Amelie effect. Woman Photography Forum http://www.womanphotographer.org/forum/ One of my favourite photo journals: http://greyexpectations.com/ http://www.photographyblog.com/ His face is too dark, but I liked the sunshine on the deck. Google has a free photogrphy manipulation program called Picasa, so I've been turning it on some of my old photographs. I think this one looks much better than it used to: IP: Logged |
