This is one reason I take so many pictures of my pets:

Quote from giori:

giori says:

I'm crying, too. I wish that pictures could save them. ... or maybe they do, in a way. I have pictures of my darling Andy, who died in 2001, and of Lance, gone in 1989. They're framed and on my office wall. Henk's adventurous Joop, too, and sweet Ben, my most recent loss.

"I know by itself this is an incredibly boring photo. In fact, to most people the entire set of photos may be a yawner. But for those who appreciate the love and companionship of a pet, you may appreciate what I wrote about our dog, Sam ... and the reason for this set in the first place. I hope you do.

This photo is part of the set, Standing in the Light. and if you click here, you can read what I wrote. It is about Sam and it is about any of our animal companions with whom we hold a deep abiding connection."

It's a broken stump. I like how the natural lighting just seemed to make this picture.

a broken stump?
Is this just me? I thought it was an enormous mountain-size jutting rock.

So, yeah! Well done on the lighting and stuff, AG

Love that last picture especially, teaslebaby. Those eyes! So adorable.

Those eyes are pretty incredible. Raccoons in general just seem to have so much personality to them.

Oh, you beat me to the punch, Sue! I was on photobucket trying to upload pics and ran into problems before I got the rest on here.

So here are more.

And thank you, by the way!

And then this next one I really love... he's trying to calm her by singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."

It's about time to shoot some new photos soon. These are about three weeks old.

AG... I love your photos, btw. I can't wait until I can get out again and do some shooting. The weather lately has been phenomenal for Ohio. You have some beautiful landscapes around you and you capture them wonderfully. My favorite one is on page three, posted January 28 @ 2:02. I'll have to explain why later when I can put it into words.

Such beautiful photos everyone! AG you really have such a talent for this! I'd love to print some of those out and frame them if you don't mind?

Future you have such stunning children! I've gone quite broody

Sorry, I don't check in here all that often. Yes, of course you can print them out CG. If you want I could probably email you some of them if you like (so they'll be full size, and so that you can have the file to send to printers if you want).

Future,

That's interesting that you like those in particular. Will be interested to hear you elaborate on that.

Well, it may sound a little strange, but the houses in that photo seem to be alive. They all look so similar, as though in uniform. Oddly, they remind me of my children when they're quieting down for sleep... they're settled and almost still, but their eyes are wide awake.

It's an unexpected feeling to look at a few rows of houses and feel all the emotion one would feel if looking at actual faces. And as you can see, I adore photographing faces.

The photo pleases me.

I just checked the last 2 pages and WOW...so much talent! AG, HOLY CRAP...those are AMAZING photos. Future, I love yours! They have such a serene feel, and your son looks soooo sooo sooo much like the Taurus son of a friend I used to hang out with all the time!!! And the raccoons!

I'm going to post some of mine, sometimes my camera can be frustrating as it's a very old Fujifilm digicam with NO zoom whatsoever, but I like these:

Calming pond at my college's campus:

The view from Prospect Mountain, in NY:

This needs some touching up but I love the effect (it's from the sun's reflection on a CD):

VTT, whenever you stumble across this thread again... I really love your photos. They appeal to something inside me. Wanderlust, perhaps?? Or nostalgia??

Pixelpixie, sorry I didn't see your reply sooner. Thank you! I can't wait until your little fishy makes his big splash!

Oh my goodness...HOW did I miss this thread???

I have recently taken up photography for the sake of a DEPERATE NEED of a creative outlet.

I have a gallery at Deviantart please feel free to stop in take a look. I do not mind critiques so please leave your comments.

A few of my fave follows...

This one was a complete fluke...okay it was not lmao...! I was taking fotos of the sunrise and did not notice till the fotos were uploaded that there was a HUGE dove with outstreched wings swooping into the center of the pic.

December Dove

MAYBE IT IS AN OMEN FOR 2007 (any comments on this?)

This fotos is called Newbuck and it is also a fluke. Gunner moved his head and nudged me. I snapped a pic this is the outcome. so the credit goes to him.

Newbuck

This one is a fave of mine. It has my fave colors with my favorite subjects. I also like the title.

Amazing pics from a phone! Wow!

I'm hoping to get a new camera sometime this year. I want something for serious photography for $500 or less. A rechargeable battery is a must.

Any suggestions?
