my dad closed the business for the whole week..woo-hoo..except no pay..
he's gotta check on his house being built in Aruba..

My girl's are happy..we will be going to the beach..and Canobie Lake Park..and whatever else..we can think of..

he wanted to be a composer, a writer, a doctor...maybe an artist
to heal, he said, people's bodies, minds and spirits
it didn't matter which, just one of the three
and the healing of the other two
would surely follow, he believed

but he had become an engineer, and secretly despised it
the Highways of the State employed him
as the Pharoahs employed the slaves in Egypt
to lift and measure stones to build their silent tombs

dusty roads...are so unlike sterile medical laboratories
nor do ditches much resemble a vaulted concert hall
or the polished ceilings of an art museum
