I did my first communion at St. Marie, on Notre Dame st. I went to St. Patrick's school... ..this brings back so many memories..thank you! ------------------ All my love, with all my Heart lotusheartone/Emeraldopal IP: Logged |

Ballerina Yes. What a coincidence! All four of my grandparents migrated from Quebec to US. I remember my Scorpio grandmother talking about Sherbrooke, and towns in that region. Did Ste.Marie give masses in French? I have relatives (I barely met) in Quebec area. Also, some are in a town off Hudson Bay (sounds like) Le Bitse Bee? They owned farms up that way. My family was French Canadian-- first language was franglais!! Well.. so nice to be here at LL with you.

mirage29 As far as I know the mass at St. Marie was only in English.. I started school at 5, only speaking French... Abitibi, that's far! I'm really glad we're here. ... ------------------ All my love, with all my Heart lotusheartone/Emeraldopal IP: Logged |

Abitibi (not Le Bitsy Bee). I'm so glad you recognized it from how it sounds, and told me how it's spelled. Hey! I had creative hearing. Are your girls bi-lingual? IP: Logged |

Your Ballet.. That was a pretty serious school! They have programs for pre-professionals. Cool!! Oh.. You must have been soooo precious-looking, at 3 years old, getting into ballet! {{ }} Did you ever wind up teaching it later in life? How long did you study? Got any vids??

I think it's REALLY super-good that you spoke French with your girls. It's fantastic to know 'languages'. Plus!, makes them extra employable up there with ability to speak both languages.<<If you'd prefer, I'd be happy to delete my posts so that you can continue about your name?>> IP: Logged |

mirage29 No need to edit your posts.. I want to thank you for sharing your memories with me, you are very special... ..I remember buying my girls everything they needed for ballet, at a school I taught..they took one class and wanted nothing to do with it, from that point they chose what they wanted to learn! I have no videos, there could be some out there!? Lots of photos, and a poster my sister framed for me... ------------------ All my love, with all my Heart lotusheartone/Emeraldopal IP: Logged |

From the same book...In this famous ritual text, which must have existed in many copies, and beginning with the words Enuma elis, the opening statement has a curiously familiar ring. Dr. Langdon's philological translation of a difficult and uncertain text is necessarily hesitant and halting, but perhaps we may paraphrase it : When as yet on high the Heavens had no name And the Earth beneath was nameless, And the (sweet) Waters beneath, the Source from which all sprang, Had not yet begot them on (salty) Chaos, And there was neither sea nor land, And the gods were not yet named and brought into being, Nor the destiny of ought was fixed, Then the primal Pair were named, were made, The Male and Female, and duly waxed in Time.
