Isa Upanishad: Who sees all beings in his own Self, and his own Self in all beings, loses all fear.Into deep darkness fall those who follow action. Into deeper darkness fall those who follow knowledge...Into deep darkness fall those who follow the immanent. Into deeper darkness fall those who follow the transcendent. Kena Upanishad: It [the Spirit] is the ear of the ear, the eye of the eye, and the Word of words, the mind of mind, and the life of life.
He [Brahman] is known in the ecstacy of an awakening which opens the door of life eternal. By the Self [another word for Brahman] we obtain power, and by vision we obtain Eternity.
Katha Upanishad: Awake, arise! Strive for the Highest, and be in the Light!
The pure eternal Spirit...in space he is the sun, and he is the wind and the sky; at the alter he is the priest, and the Soma wine in the jar. There is a Spirit who is awake in our sleep and creates the wonder of dreams. He is Brahman, the Spirit of Light, who in truth is called the Immortal. All the worlds rest on that Spirit and beyond him no one can go. 'This is That' - thus they realize the ineffable joy supreme. How can 'This' be known? Does he give light or does he reflect light? There the sun shines not, nor the moon, nor the stars; lightenings shine not there and much less earthly fire. Prasna Upanishad:
Thou [the Power Supreme] art Rudra, the god of protection; thou art Indra in thy radiance, O Life. Kaushitaki Upanishad
Then Indra (the Soma god) spoke: ....When consciousness rules the eye, with the eye we can see all forms. When consciousness rules the ear, with the ear we can hear all sounds... When consciousness rules the mind, with the mind we can think all thoughts. IP: Logged |

Piousness and the path of love are two different roads. Love is the fire that burns both belief and non-belief. Those who practice Love have neither religion nor caste.~ Shaikh Abu Saeed Abil Kheir Out beyond ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing, there is a field. I'll meet you there.

Sometimes people need a little help. Sometimes people need to be forgiven. And sometimes they need to go to jail. But if you can forgive someone, well, that's the tough part. What can we forgive? Tough part of the job. Tough part of walking down the street. ~ Paul Thomas Anderson ("Magnolia")

The one who buries the Truth in the ground for safekeeping will lose it, while the one who does something with the Truth will receive more Truth. This is why some grow spiritually and some do not. --Chip Brogden IP: Logged |

Simone Weil from "The Love of God and Affliction" "Those who have never had contact with affliction in its true sense have no idea what it is, even though they have suffered a great deal."
"Compassion for the afflicted is an impossibility. When it is really found we have a more astounding miracle than walking on water, healing the sick, or even raising the dead." "Even the grace of God cannot cure irremediably wounded nature here below. The glorified body of Christ bore the marks of the nails and spear."

Simone Weil from "School Studies""The capacity to give one's attention to a sufferer is a very rare and difficult thing; it is almost a miracle; it is a miracle. Nearly all of those who think they have this capacity do not possess it. Warmth of heart, impulsiveness, pity are not enough." "The love of our neighbor in all its fullness simply means being able to say to him: "What are you going through?" It is a recognition that the sufferer exists, not only as a unit in a collection, or a specimen from the social category labeled "unfortunate," but as a man, exactly like us, who was one day stamped with a special mark by affliction....The soul empties itself of all its contents in order to receive into itself the being it is looking at, just as he is, in all his truth." Simone Weil from "Forms of the Implicit Love of God: The Love of Our Neighbor" "Difficult as it is to really listen to someone in affliction, it is just as difficult for him to know that compassion is listening to him."

Interesting choices...Personally, I find many flaws in these quotes though. IP: Logged |

quote: When Edison-gene children aren't recognized for their gifts but instead are told that they're disordered, broken, or failures, a great emotional and spiritual wounding occurs. This wounding can bring about all sorts of problems for children, for the adults they grow into, and for our society.

I think you might be thinking of your Dad, T. You seem so troubled lately. You need some Axl... Wanna go to a concert with me? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv2M_Ge5j2Y Just watching this had tears pouring down my smiling and laughing face. I was also throwing up my fist and cheering at the beginning. It's pretty clear which part everyone knows... hehe Whew, that was great. Almost like being there, I could even feel the energy of the crowd. What a gift from the Universe (and tube person). :^D I hope you got to make it all the way down and soon you can start coming back up. It always helps to let the wave of emotion crash, then it has no where to go but up.

Not a word nor a letter. Heavens! Not even a sound may be uttered by the human tongue without the ego! Without the ego, the sound becomes non-human. The best one might aspire to is to be aware of the ego and its aims, those secret and overt. But doing away with it? You might as well be asking for your own death!IP: Logged |

They talk of a man betraying his country, his friends, his sweetheart. There must be a moral bond first. All a man can betray is his conscience... ~ Joseph Conrad “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I will meet you there.”
~ Rumi “A true man never frets about his place in the world, but just slides into it by the gravitation of his nature, and swings there as easily as a star.”
