Express your love for all things with wings here. ___________________________________________God gives every bird its food, but He does not throw it into its nest. ~J.G. Holland I once had a sparrow alight upon my shoulder for a moment, while I was hoeing in a village garden, and I felt that I was more distinguished by that circumstance that I should have been by any epaulet I could have worn. ~Henry David Thoreau God loved the birds and invented trees. Man loved the birds and invented cages. ~Jacques Deval, Afin de vivre bel et bien Have you ever observed a humming-bird moving about in an aerial dance among the flowers - a living prismatic gem.... it is a creature of such fairy-like loveliness as to mock all description. ~W.H. "I cannot love the man who doth not love, As men love light, the song of happy birds." Those little nimble musicians of the air, that warble forth their curious ditties, with which nature hath furnished them to the shame of art. Izaak Walton Birds are more musical at certain times of the day as well as at certain seasons of the year. During the hour between dawn and sunrise occurs the grand concert of the feathered folk. There are no concerts during the day-only individual songs.

Voices in the sky, Bluebirds flying high.Tell me what you're saying. If you could talk to me, what news would you bring of voices in the sky? Nightingale hovers high Harmonize the wind. Darkness is your symphony, I can hear you sing of voices in the sky. Moody Blues

The sound of bird's music- balm for the soul. I can't understand why anyone would want to go and shoot these humble, graceful little creatures just for the sheer hell of it. IP: Logged |

Crows are such clever, mysterious earthly companions. I wonder what the animals would say to us if we would only listen? IP: Logged |

What gorgeous lyrics juni. I'm not sure I'm familiar with that one, but I love the Moody Blues. Saw them in concert years ago. IP: Logged |

Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly Into the light of the dark black night. One swallow does not make a summer. Aristotle I realized that If I had to choose, I would rather have birds than airplanes. Charles Lindbergh I hope you love birds too. It is economical. It saves going to heaven. Emily Dickinson IP: Logged |

The very idea of a bird is a symbol and a suggestion to the poet. A bird seems to be at the top of the scale, so vehement and intense his life. . . . The beautiful vagabonds, endowed with every grace, masters of all climes, and knowing no bounds -- how many human aspirations are realised in their free, holiday-lives -- and how many suggestions to the poet in their flight and song! I have always believed that God never gives a cross to bear larger than we can carry. No matter what, he wants us to be happy, not sad. birds sing after a storm. Why shouldn't we? Rose F. Here is the richest part of it Ms T. I have always had a passion for the winged jewels. They always arrived down at Rainbow`s house a week or so before mine. She would always announce the arrival so I could get my feeders prepared.Four or five years ago, she sent me that very same gif/pic to announce their timely arrival So, I used it on my e mails. CancerianMoon just put an I miss Rainbow thread on LLC, you post the picture she sent me and a is created... I would not be the least bit surprised if Ginny/Rainbow has a hand in this love, juni ------------------ ~ What we do for ourselves dies with us. Juni, This is all quite unearthly really. No, I wouldnt be surpised if Rainbow had a hand in it either. You see, it also relates to an artistic endeavor I have recently begun, as well. It looks as though it will "take off" and it involves light, sound, wings, jewels and rainbows. Dont mean to sound mysterious, but I'd like to keep it under wraps for a little while. I will let you know more about it soon. When did Rainbow usually announce the arrival of the little winged jewels? This time of year? I would so love to see a dancing of a flock of them! I bet they are quite a sight to see! I hadnt realized you had such a strong affinity and connection with these little wingers either, jun. Perhaps Rainbow was taking the chance to come through reminding you too keep your eyes peeled at this time and to remind us she is still "here" fluttering around our hearts and minds...and "heard" that some of us have been thinking of her since that thread started by Cancerian Moon. What is interesting is, that I was going back and forth trying to decide on a humming bird pic (because of that comment you left, juni) to post and suddenly decided to do a new search for a hummingbird gif. I found a few there and I was having a hard time picking one but kept going back to that one above. There was one with that bird without the flower vine too. Maybe she wanted to come through and announce their arrival to you again or get through in some other personal way or to us to remind us of the strength of love and it's ties... Solane, hello! You both know about my connection and experience with the hummer awhile back from the other site. This is really something isnt it?!! IP: Logged |
