I think it is of great fortune that one of the men who decided to become a monk was a mental health therapist. As a monk, he gets to work with kids who have some very serious behavioral issues.. teaches them how to self-regulate before they grow into their teens and adult years. *thumbsup*
(I haven't seen too many of his vids, so I hope that what I said above is correct-- if I decide to watch his training series and find I was mistaken, I'll come back and edit this post.)

One of the activities this monk emphasizes is that his monk-trainees keep a hand-written journal.

I used to be an AVID (dedicated/determined) journal keeper-writer. Would reserve and schedule two hours a day to "write." Like Julie Cameron's 'morning pages', I kept pen to notebook.
Included recording my dreams (with thumb-sketch of setting) in that composition book.

I stopped formal journaling in 2011,
then altogether stopped writing anymore.

When I started my 'Good Performed'.. thread (LL's Labor of Love forum, Jun 2013 - Oct 2019), these became my 'pages' till the thread broke.. astro-transits, flow of life, observations, inspirations, and current events. Was able to add astrology, asteroids, and Music to what I created. --
I miss being able to do that these-days: .. situation + environmental circumstance hazards.. + time = congested, arrested.
