Hello there aqua...

Working tonight and tomorrow night. If I have a few lucid moments during the day I'll see what I can think of that we haven't already covered about the Emperor.

If not, I'll be off Monday and Tuesday.

Off to the racing hearts club....

Blessings...

Hello!
I'm new to this board but my interest in the Tarot has expanded since I bought the Servants of Light deck about 15 years ago. I like the symbolism of the Beast versus the Virtue in The Strength?VIII in the major arcana. Visually I like all the Aces 'specially the Ace of Swords..I have a soft spot for the 9 of Coins though...I've always chosen it as my signigier impulsively...what does it represent for it to 'echo' in me in this manner?
Thanks!

Hello Everyone,

I have a number of decks that I use but the two that I always go back to are the Rider-Waite and the Thoth deck.

My favorite card is definitely the Star. To me she represents hope for the future and all the wonders of the Aquarian Age.

The reason I identify with her ... and this is kind of silly ... years ago, when I first started my journey into metaphysics I found out that my name, Heidi, comes from the hebrew word Hester which means 'star'. Shortly after that, a Japanese friend of mine wrote out the japanese word for star and when he turned it sideways it read "HEIDI" ... (needless to say, I just had to have it tattood on my shoulder after that!)

To me she represents everything that is Love and Light.

Much Love,

Heidi Beth

Heidi, that is so ! You've just taught us to write your name in Japanese!

Brunhilde, the 9 of Pentacles has to do with a strong sense of identity and a belief in your self-worth. Hmm, not a bad card to resonate to!

Aselzion, I'll be here.

i love the empress card ,the meanings of abundance and love ,it represnts the ultimate in all that is beautiful ,feminine and powerful in a very earthly grounded and knowing way.Its very comforting for an over-emotional airy fairy drama queen like my cancer/aquarius/leo self!

Wow! It's amazing how all you people have got me looking at so many cards from a fresh perspective. I always thought the Empress was kind of boring, but when you put it that way, hmmm .... I see where she's coming from.

I see this old, but being a lover of Tarot, I just wanted to add.

I love:

The Death card - being a Scorpio I can appreciate it's message of death, and rebirth. It pretty signifies my entire Phoenix-life cycle this lifetime.

The Lovers - my Libran Venus is "in love with love"; I fimly believe that "LOVE is ALL" and this card is representation of pure love between two entities

The Queen of Cups - because she is the Scorpion of the deck

The Magician - he brings to mind the Alchemist searching for spiritual truths, with who I strongly relate

Thanks for letting me share! (Did I mention I love this site?!)

The unseen, the unknown, the mystery - this is what drives me; propels me forward on new journeys as dark corners of my mind are lit with the evergrowing bright light of my enlightened soul.

I think that so far, based on my brief forays into the tarot 'The Moon'has always spoken to me.
The card I believe usually shows dogs or wolves baying and looking up at the moon.I feel very at home with imagery such as this and find it very soothing, sometimes late at night when everyone is asleep I see an astral pack of dogs or wolves waiting for me just outside the boundary of my house, perhaps they're waiting to escort me into the astral world of dreaming, perhaps they mean something more?Sometimes I'll see the image of just one dog or two.
There are some woods near my house and of course the foxes come out,I can very much feel their presence and I also often get the strong feeling they're sensing me,in fact.I think that an animal such as a fox has the intelligence of for example a dog but they are also wild,so the field of energy around them is more in tune with nature and with a heightened awareness than say for example a domestic dog.

I dont really feel that much of a connection to the moon itself, and,if it's relevant at all,I have no planets in Cancer,I usually dont give the moon much attention in the night sky, preferring to look at the stars.
I think also it's just the very raw, dark feeling I get from it I find very soothing,it seems to give, the very basic feeling of madness which also contains within it the opposite perhaps, making things feel a bit more sane. Also just this feeling of emotion brimming over with the promise of a release afterwards when the full moon has finished and starts to wane.
Having said all of this I must add that I havent read one single thing or any formal descriptions about what this card means.

Mazz, it's obvious that you haven't. Reading your post , I thought to myself how effectively conditioning works. I can't look at the Moon and not feel frustration and impatience because to me it indicates a time of confusion and chaos, so I ignore the beauty of the card that you just described because I'm so caught up in what I've read/been told it means. Loved your description.

I've always liked The Magician. Wonder if that says anything about me?

Hmmm my favourite tarot card...

Good question. I like all tarot cards cause I feel they all have a message to give me, even if the reading isn't for myself (I try to avoid those, cause I'm afraid of interpreting them as I want, not as I should ).

Hmm... I'd like to choose some from the Major Arcana and some from the Minor Arcana. I think my favourite Major Arcana cards are Strength and the Sun. (Now, I'm a Leo and the Sun's my regent planet, so would that explain anything? ).

From the Minor Arcana... that would be an interesting choice. I like the Ace of Cups, the two of Wands and the Two of pentacles. But I like them all, really heh!

Welcome, Serenity Rose!

I know what you mean about us Leos identifying with the Sun, heheh.

I love the Ace of Cups as well.
What do the 2 of Wands & Pentacles say to you?

Hi, Sunshyne!

A fellow Leo! Yay!

Anyway... the two of wands and the two of pentacles... I like the two of Wands cause it gives me a sense of power. Like the world's mine for the taking, I can do what I want to do cause I'm strong enough for it. You know those cards that help you feel better when you're down? That's the Two of Wands for me.

And the Two of Pentacles is all about flexibility It kinda represents my daily life cause I'm always 'juggling' with my daily tasks. It's a fun card to me, I get a feeling of happiness when I look at it. It's just the fact of being flexible in our lives, handling what is thrown at us. It's a powerful card for me as well.

Hope that answers your question? And generally what I say about the cards means the feelings I get from them. I'm connected to the cards to a point where I can literally feel its meaning coming to me. Once I've done a reading that was so negative that I had a massive headache afterwards.

Anyway! Thanks for the warm welcome!
