hello everybody this sounds like it's going to be fun! yes siouxie sue, pacing it out like you said is great (less intimidating than 78, hehe). this will be give me a chance to blow the dust off my tarot books and open up its crinkly pages. no, they've not turned yellow yet . the history is fascinating indeed . . . kept safely in code by the gypsies as *entertainment* over the centuries. i'll look up the origins and type out what i can find. aphrodite IP: Logged |

Hello all,Once upon a time, a long long time ago (I love starting postings that way :-) I went to the bookstore of a very wise astrologer, named Zoltan Mason. Mr. Mason (who was a well known astrologer), was starting astrology classes and I went to talk to him about my joining a class (which I did for a while). Mr. Mason looked into my eyes, right down to the core of my soul and said, in his Hungarian accent, "YOU DO TAROT!" Well, what was I to say? He introduced me to a wonderful woman on the upper west side of Manhattan and I proceeded to take some lessons from her. She definitely tied the tarot into the Kabala. For me, tarot cards are an amazing tool to open up my psychic abilities. When I'm on, the impressions that come through are extremely accurate. I use them quite a bit and actually will do a mini-reading to verify a feeling I get when I'm doing an astrological chart. It's uncanny how the cards will tell the same story as the chart! As far as upside down or rightside up...I will let them come out either way but if I "Feel" it is the wrong way, I'll turn it myself. It works for me. Also, I have the deck of cards that Crystal and the Linda Goodman website produced (off of Linda's teachings). They, also will verify the readings I get from other sources. For me, all of these avenues are just tools to open up my ability to let the intuition in. There are so many wonderful books on the tarot and a great, free online course. Here is the website: http://learntarot.org/top.htm

LaTeeDa...thanks! I have used Bernadette as a screen name for about 5 years now...for 2 reasons, one is that people have always told me i look like bernadette peters..and the 2nd reason is one of my friends has a daughter named Bernadette..after that Motown song!! I was in Gatlinburg one year and found an address book, that was personalized..first time i had ever seen anything with that name on it..I got it for her and she was so thrilled..her and Ms Peters are the only Bernadette's I know..with the exception of me..(and I'm actually Amanda).. Hi Cat I am so glad to be suggesting something that will help everyone rather than always asking questions. I do think the Tarot.com is great. Very accurate Tarot. ZenRia, I also value the info on Learntarot.com and am very impressed at the card information. If you want to get a real indepth card readout this site is so full. I also like the way you can click on each card to make it bigger and easier to 'really see' all the 'little stories' in each card. I am very blessed to have a wonderful Tarot reader who also meshes astrology into her reads. She is wise in her knowledge of seeing the 'big picture' in the sky and the 'little pictures' in the cards. Fascinating to be so gifted.I have been helped through a divorce and the healing process and now am so thrilled to see the Sun card and the 10 of Cups and the 6 of Wands all coming into my future. What a nice path this is and I am ready to embrace the good. It coincides perfectly with Jupiter trining my Sun and I am so pleased to have such Light coming into my Life. When I have asked for 1 card on the Tarotcom site I have been given Advice like wait, be patient. I marvel at its accuracy and relevance to the question posed. I am skeptical by nature and it has passed all my tests.I did not realize the reader I was going to was going to use Tarot but when I got there and experienced her huge intuition and realized how she was helping me to access the right decisions for me I never looked back.Enjoy.
