I'm a pretty sloppy astrologer because I never go into details ... I just get a vague "feeling" about stuff, so, having said that I think the suggestion of having Minerva rule Libra is ingenious and spot on. My vague feelings are very happy about it. For me Libra and Virgo have always been two signs I couldn't get a grip on ... maybe because I haven't known that many Librans and Virgoans. But the 'plant-to-be' Minerva as the ruler of Libra would help me to understand Libra a lot better ... I'd say that that actually makes Libra the new kind of philosopher of the zodiac. Sagittarius is associated with philosophy, but I reckon it could do with some help from Libra. You see, there are actually different kinds of philosophy these days. What I mean to say is that philosophy has mutated. It used to be that philosophy aimed at the highest possible target - like an archer - that target being 'the total understanding of everything'. These days philosophers no longer aim that high however ... Philosophy as it is taught in universities in this day and age no longer aims at 'the truth' about everything. In other words, philosophy is no longer metaphysical. It is more involved with "weighing" different viewpoints / arguments, like Libra, the scales. Minerva for me is totally associated with philosophy ... in the sense of 'learning' and 'wisdom'. To me Minerva ruling Libra would totally help me to understand Libra. Em ... I think I've rambled on enough now ... I just couldn't resist : )

I meant, of course, to say "planet-to-be", not, plant-to-be.
Sorry 'bout that : )

Greetings...

Well, I have a respect for "intuition" in Astrology... the Universe whispers to each of us in many different ways.

Minerva is a goddess of Wisdom, but also warcraft, and I think a suitable opposition for Warlike Mars, ruler of Aries.

Just a thought...

great thread!! I always thought the Quincunx is much more important than just being a ''minor'' aspect. I have 3 in my chart (2 are part of a YOD).

I also have a question. Which Vulcan is this? The hypothetical body Vulcan h55 , the Uranian planet Vulkanus h46, or the asteroid Vulcano 4464 .

i found an online article
here

''The first thing i discovered is that Vulcan is actually the predicted planet to rule Virgo- instead of Mercury- but hasn’t yet been discovered! It is said to be situated between Mercury and the Sun.''

so it's the h55 ? in my chart that's the one between Sun&Mercury.

And I already have Hephaistos (greek version of Vulcan) conjunct my Sun 0.01 ! And now I read this, that Vulcan could be the true ruler of Virgo. lol I have Virgo ASC.

*and i've just realized Hephaistos is number 2212 + Vulcan h55 !! these are all the numbers i always notice the most ! WTF lol*

I'm becoming a Vulcan believer!

i found a great old link from this forum: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/017055.html

VULCAN IN TAURUS

Esoteric Ruler

In the transitional phase, the individual is presented with main, often painful, tests of detachment. This may manifest as loss of either objects of people. The purpose is to aid the individual in breaking his thralldom with the desire nature as it centers in form.

Once the Fixed Cross is mounted, the natural magnetism and power of Vulcan in Taurus allows the person to create a vital channel for the expression of the Will and Power of the First Ray. The soul-centered individual then becomes a vehicle for the ~redemption~ of matter, so that is (as well as the individual) may serve some larger, impersonal function.

The area in the life in which this higher purpose may be found can be ascertained through Vulcan’s placement in the natal chart.

Cool stuff.

I even checked synastry with someone really important to me and we have :

Vulcan conjunct TrueLilith(h13) 0.00 !!
Vulcan conjunct Atlantis 0.26

+composite Sun conjunct Vulcan 0.24

Pretty awesome.

And the Chaldean Compound name number for Vulcan is 24, the Single name number is 6. My kind of place indeed.

Greetings...

Unfortunately I am unable to answer your question as to which Vulcan is the Vulcan to which I am referring, as I am unfamiliar with the designations you have included.

It is my belief that Vulcan and Minerva may very well be extra Plutonian, and yes, I still consider Pluto a planet!

I am not convinced that the orbit of the Vulcan to which I refer lies between The Sun and Mercury; based on the Inconjunct Pattern I have described, I am more inclined to believe that they have yet to be dicovered.

As with anything, I say try all the methods that attract your attention... I do not use asteroids nor Chiron in my work. But that is what works for me. As Linda said, "the catholic minded student should try all the known systems (she was referring to systems of House Division, but I believe it is applicable here as well) and decide for himself or herself.

Blessings in the Light...

Aselzion thanks! <3

the hypothetical planet Vulcan h55 works great in my chart! I think i 'relate' to it very much. I like that you described it 'extra Plutonian'. I have a quincunx between Vulcan (8th house) + True Lilith(h13) in my chart, and TrueLilith is conjunct fixed star Antares (heart of the Scorpion) 0.08 degrees! I have very plutonic energies involving Vulcan!! I love it! Pluto will always be a planet in my eyes too! Thanks again.

Pluto will always be a Planet to Astrologers. Its numerical designation is zero, making it the most powerful Planet (according to Linda).
