Greetings...Here are the correspondences that I use for Tarot and Astrology. They are based on the teachings of The Golden Dawn, and further elucidated by Dr. Paul Foster Case, founder of B.O.T.A. (Builders of the Adytum) a mystery school that teaches Tarot, Qabalah, Esoteric Astrology and Spiritual Alchemy. There are other attributions out there, but I'm only posting the ones that have worked for me in my experience. If you have others that you prefer, by all means use them; even post them... there's always room for growth and mind expansion! HEY Aselzion- Finaly, some one else who has a familiarity with both Crowleys THOTH and the Golden Dawn order. Most peaple Ive come acrost who do practice Tarot are only familyar with "Gypsie" decks and more fortune telling uses. O.k.- I have a theory that Im not at all sure would be accurate. What would be tyour opinion on using the THOTH to determain whose seed lies within a womens womb? Since the posabilities are my own or one other mans seed I was thinking of just trying a single card draw. Ive invented single card draws for other sorts of inquireies in the past, mostly Ive had accurate results. If you dont think a single card draw would be best for this then what else if anything would you sugest for the greatest acuracy to such a question? THANK YOU MUCH, Shawn IP: Logged |

Greetings...Shawn... I'm not very familiar with the Toth deck, the one time I used it I got a headache, but I was also trying to translate its imagery for a deck that I knew better... very exhausting!  In terms of your particular question, I'd probably use a 3, 5 or 7 card YES/NO type spread asking the question, "is this my baby?". In that method the center card is 2 points and all others are one point. Right side up = YES, Reversed = NO. An equal balance of YES/NO would be a maybe. I don't think it would hold up in a court of Law though!  I wish you the best, and the answer you hope for to be the reality. Blessed Be... Oh this is so interesting! By the way, you guys do have interesting threads here, I'm so glad my friend got me this link.Funny how Strength has always been a card that I found "cozy". Now knowing that it's connected to my sun sign, it might explain it  Or maybe I just connected it to Leo because of the Lion, and never realised that  And hi everyone! *waves* If I haven't said hi before LOL

Yes, right on! The Lion is in the Strength card because it is the card attributed to Leo. And Justice is Card 11 and is the Libra Card because it has the Scales, and 11 is the MIDPOINT of the 22 Higher Arcana, but more on that later. (I only mention it as some decks reverse these two cards, and that reversal is incorrect and a blind to the uniformed Seeker.) Peace and Light... Aselzion.......after reading a bit more in depth on these boards, I have to say you are incredibly talented in tarot... I am humbled. (as if you needed ME to tell you that!!) Everything you mention I have researched, but havent had the patience to really make mysekf retain it. Now.. well, I have been inspired. Hi Mighty...Hmmm. Sounds interesting and perhaps possible, but also sounds like this person is making an all out attempt to hawk his wares.  I'm not sure what I think, it may very well be true, and I DO believe that the Tarot is the key to unparalleled knowledge, magic and science... but I already have a problem with his assigning the 8th Tarot key to Justice rather than Strength. It lies in the fact that the 11th card should be the one that represents balance and equilibrium, and that HAS to be Libra/Justice. See the following figure (I'll do the best I can to line it up) The 0 Card of The fool is over and above the rest, as it represents what Qabalists call the Limitless Light. ........................0 1......2......3......4......5......6......7 8.....9.....10....11.....12....13.....14 15....16....17....18....19....20....21 If you add up 1 and 21 you get 22, which divided by 2 = 11. The midway point. If you add 7 and 15 and divide by 2 = 11. 2 and 20 = 22/2 = 11 and so on through all of the numbers, showing that 11 is the balance point of this diagram. As the Balance point it is only logical that it be attributed to the card that shows a BALANCE... Justice. The 8th card shows a Lion = LEO! If you reverse these and make the card that shows the BALANCE card 8, then the card that falls in the 11th position, which as we can see should be a card of Balance or Equlibrium, now shows a woman closing the mouth of a Lion! I dunno, but that doesn't "add up" to my way of thinking, particularly when we have a very graphic representation of a BALANCE in the Tarot. Justice! Make any sense? I am intrigued though and will probably have a look at that man's book when it comes out. I may, as I always say, be wrong! hi aselzion,i understand until you got to the part about the Strength card. how do you get this as the balance point? b/c when i add, it's 8 + 14 = 22 divided by 2, equals 11 . . . like all the others. i did switch #11 to the first position, #8 to the the center, and put #5 at the end. this way #8 comes out as the balance. please explain a little further what you mean. thanks  a. Hey Mighty A...Sorry I guess it was a little early for me to be as coherent as I wanted. My point was only that 11 needs to be the balance point in the scheme... we do not reverse the positions to make 8 come out in the midpoint. Some Tarot decks switch 8 which SHOULD BE Strength for Justice. I feel this is incorrect for the reasons I stated. It looked on that link that you posted that the man that wrote the book made that switch, following the Tarot de Marseilles. Sorry if I created confusion.  Make better sense now? Blessings...
