I'll share my study notes on the Fool, (bear in mind I've only been studying properly for a few weeks and it wont be as insightful as most of the others )

0 The Fool

The Fool represents being open to a new experience through a new beginning or a simple change in direction regardless of what may lie ahead. The Fool follows the new direction with enthusiasm and faith. His innocence and curiosity symbolises the unlimited potential of the human spirit.
The Fool knows he'll be provided for and that things will work themselves out along the way. This card in a reading indicates that you are ready to embark on a journey of your own as things are about to change. This implies that you are now inclined to act against what is familiar and choose to embrace the unexpected.

Planet: Uranus
Element: Air
Color: Pale Yellow/White
Musical note: E

I had a dream about the Fool a few weeks ago.
I remember I was in my mothers house and she had a white board.
There was written the words "FOOL", and a brief discription.
But I only could read the words "EARTH" & "BEAUTIFUL"...it still eludes me.

SunChild,
that dream was such a beautiful gift.

There is as much misconception in "foolishness" as there is of Innocence.
Innocence is often misconceived as naiveity or gullibility. They aren't the same.
Innocence is the Pure state of our Beings.
And a person can be extremely experienced and wise...her innocence all the more amazing for it's enduring strength through the seasons of life's ups and downs.

The Fool is Earthly Beauty in it's greatest splendor. All the most beautiful meaning here on this Earth generates from the Fool's shining invincible Hope.

In Tarot, The Fool is represented by the number Zero. But the Tarot's wheel (The World; snake eating eats its tail) is Infinity. The Fool is at Zero, reTurning to the Purity of his soul. He has already experienced (traveled around the wheel) yet regardless of his experience, is reTurning to the Innocence of his Being. Clean Slate, with shining optimism and bravery that is so needed to begin again.

Well, perhaps this description from Osho Tarot will explain it better~~

The Fool

A fool is one who goes on trusting; a fool is one who goes on trusting against all his experience. You deceive him, and he trusts you; and you deceive him again, and he trusts you; and you deceive him again, and he trusts you. Then you will say that he is a fool, he does not learn. His trust is tremendous; his trust is so pure that nobody can corrupt it.

Be a fool in the Taoist sense, in the Zen sense. DonĀ't try to create a wall of knowledge around you. Whatsoever experience comes to you, let it happen, and then go on dropping it. Go on cleaning your mind continuously; go on dying to the past so you remain in the present, herenow, as if just born, just a babe.

In the beginning it is going to be very difficult. The world will start taking advantage of you...let them. They are poor fellows. Even if you are cheated and deceived and robbed, let it happen, because that which is really yours cannot be robbed from you, that which is really yours nobody can steal from you.

And each time you donĀ't allow situations to corrupt you, that opportunity will become an integration inside. Your soul will become more crystallized.

Osho Dang Dang Doko Dang Chapter 2

Commentary:

Moment to moment, and with every step, the Fool leaves the past behind. He carries nothing more than his purity, innocence and trust, symbolized by the white rose in his hand. The pattern on his waistcoat contains the colors of all four elements of the tarot, indicating that he is in harmony with all that surrounds him. His intuition is functioning at its peak. At this moment the Fool has the support of the universe to make this jump into the unknown. Adventures await him in the river of life.

The card indicates that if you trust your intuition right now, your feeling of the 'rightness' of things, you cannot go wrong. Your actions may appear 'foolish' to others, or even to yourself, if you try to analyze them with the rational mind. But the 'zero' place occupied by the Fool is the numberless number where trust and innocence are the guides, not skepticism and past experience.

Lialei...

Didn't see this until now. I had forgot about that dream...I remember now, it makes more sense to me now as time has gone by. I agree with what you wrote. So true. Earthly Beauty!

Thanks for the bump Randall.

Greetings...

Well, considering The Big Picture, We are ALL the Fool and the Fool is all of us! We are all aspects of God, and that is the message of this image...

We go around the Circle of Life, walk the Path of Return, and when we have completed one go-round, we find ourSelves, back at the beginning again.

I cannot speak to the imagery of the Devil, but to say that I do not believe in such a creature... at least not in the Grand Design. I do however, believe that we as humans have created a ThoughtForm of a devil, and have given it considerable power over us for many centuries. (millenia?)

So, that you should confront such an image in meditation does make a great deal of sense, in that you may have been facing a Fear of yours. Look at the Fool, ready to walk off the cliff and into the Abyss. This can be a fearful situation, but when approached with the Faith of a child, we look up and ahead.. neglectful of the danger before us. Like an innocent with great Faith, we are carried, or Lifted if you will, to safety by the Hand of God, so evident in the Tarot, particularly in the Aces (as well as some representations of the 4 of Cups).

I think you are doing good Work, and that your second meditation brought you a more direct experience. Keep it up, you are doing the right thing!

Blessings...

A
