I got a brand new Luigi Scapini Deck as a Birthday Present and I'm in love with it. The symbolism that the artist used is really good, sometimes funny, but catchy.

As for my least favorite deck that I've ever had it would probably be the Marseilles Deck. It's not imaginative enough for me; I couldn't work with them at all.

Must be the Capricorn in me, but I like the traditional.

I like many decks designs - Crow's Magic, Cosmic Tarot, Robin Wood. LOVE Voyager and use it a lot for meditation. But when I have a serious question and I need a straight answer - it is good old Rider Waite.

I'm currently lusting after the re-released Sheridan Douglas deck.
It's very 70's in the colors used and I love the images.
It's a little expensive, so I'm saving for it.
Here's a link to some images

My fav deck is the Tarot of the Old Path - but I dont actually read wih it.

I must be the odd ball of the bunch. My Deck is The Rider Tarot Deck and I have a paperback book called " The Book of Tarot, by Susan Gerulskis- Estes. It uses the Mrrgan-Greer Tarot. Both are very old. My children grew up playing with them and trying to tell the future. I hate the Devil card and the Death card. My Granddaughter is born on the Death Card. My childrens Dad was born on the Devil Card, Dec. 15. Scares me lots!!

Just found this deck on Aeclectic - it's called The Llewellyn Tarot and it uses old Welsh Gods/Goddesses and Celtic mythology. I've just treated myself to it so will let you know what it's like but I think it looks beautiful!

My first tarot deck that I actually worked with was the mythic tarot. I liked the references to Greek mythology and got good vibes from them. I used those for years then due to an unfortunate accident-I left them in the wrong place and they got destroyed-I switched to Rider-Waite. Which I still have though I haven't done a reading for a while.

My first deck from teen years was the old 'Swiss', then I got the Crowley Thoth. My favorite of all is 'Rohrig' just beautiful. The cards are oversized, which some find difficult. The art is so fine though they deserve to be large. http://www.umtoquedearte.com/diamond/rohrigtc/pages/p-crt_10.htm ...http://www.umtoquedearte.com/diamond/rohrigtc/pages/p-crt_13.htm

I had a russian tarot deck once that was very beautiful . My fave will always be rider waite because it was the one i learned on.I've had so many over the years but gave most of them away.I once got ten decks at a yard sale for $5.I used to collect them, but not any more. Now I just keep one on hand for fun. Also I think it would be wonderful to create a deck out of your own life! Your personal pictures and poems and small items from your past etc. I'm sure this is far from a new idea ,but a lovely one,no?

I have been using the MotherPeace deck for about 15 years now.

Its not arty, nor is it very pretty- the cards are also round. It was hand drawn by 2 women when they found themselves drawn into the world of new feminist traditions. They are very cool ladies.

I didn't choose this deck- it chose me. My best friend at the time had just gotten it, after months of ordering issues and missed communication with the store.

The first day she used it, the High Priestess card jumped out and landed in my lap. She handed me the deck, saying "its meant for you."

I bought the books, and played around with them. One weekend I had a health crisis (oddly enough, right around Imbolc) and I had to stay home from work, suffering from an outrageous fever. All I did was play with my cards- and from those days onward, I have never had to consult a book.

It was the weirdest thing.

I love my deck.
