"Rules of language".. Are you not aware that a quote from literature is just that, a quote, which it would be incorrect and stupid to alter to modern venacular... just because you do not like it, or because it upsets your sensibilities.

"I PREFER.." As you have expressed elsewhere this is obviously your main criteria when you read.
But people are individuals with their own forms of expression. And perhaps if you considered the message more than your perception of tone you might learn more.
Especially as this IS a multi-national site
where people from many cultures with diverse langauge backgrounds can take part.

If you choose to read insult in my words then as another saying goes.. If the cap fits wear it.

Aint this fun.

Inconsistencies tempt me... but,it is time to stop.

Ofcourse I do not know from where you hail. And as I said, that shouldn't matter. Hopefully we are all children of the Universe.
