Gosh, Artlovesdawn, I'd have to reasearch morethe Raider and Waite cards and book, I feel are the easiset to intrepret, and understand Wands- Fire and Creativity Cups- Water, emotions, Love Swords- Air, discipline Pentacles-Earth, material, balance Major Arcana, is related to gods and goddesses, the big events Minor Arcana, are the influences that will come into play I relate the numbers to numerology, chaldaean alphabet you said one is missing, I didn't know this But the Fool is numbered 0 1 is the Sun The SUn and Fool are the beginning and end and beginning, we must become the Fool in a sense and be willing to take a chance on the unknown, Mother and Father, so we all know them again, like we did in the beginning. I know I didn't answer alot of your questions, and this was just off the top of my head I'm very interesting in learning more, or letting out, what I have inside of me, when I read all kinds of info comes out, I'll pay more attention, and see what I can SEE Love and Light to YOU P.S. I lent my Raider Waite book out 5 years ago, to my sister, she can't find it, But I would recommend that any beginner should start with at least reading the Book by Raider and Waite.

Art,Check out "The true and invisible Rosicrucian Order" by Paul Foster Case. The Rosicrucian book is actually mostly about tarot/kabbala. IP: Logged |

Greetings...I am a big proponent of Paul Foster Case's work. He is one of the few who was "taught" Tarot as a spiritual tool for self development rather than a mere method of divination. (not that he nor I think divination is bad, just not the ALL of what Tarot Is). I'd highly recommend any of his works, and if he inspires you, you may want to look into the Mystery School he founded called Builders of the Adytum. http://www.bota.org/ Brightest Blessings along the Path...

Greetings...Sorry, I cannot comment on your question about the court cards, I have never viewed them in that light. But if that makes your mind spiral into the ethers, then why not go with it, and see where it leads. You may be on to something. Best of Luck... Greetings...Well the problem with the Tarot is that so little is REALLY known about its history; there are so many possible explanations that one is obliged to pick the one that "feels right" and make a leap of faith. The Court cards have been said to represent the zodiac in the following way: Kings - Cardinal Sign of the Element Queens - Fixed Sign of the Element Knights - Mutable Sign of the Element Pages - the Season associated with each Element as in the list I posted here: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum18/HTML/000057.html Really, your thoughts are equally as valid anyone else's. The Tarot is a book of symbols. It can speak volumes for those with the 'eyes to see and the ears to hear', as it were. Keep on spiraling and see where it leads.
Blessed Be... A
