Tarot has other uses besides divination. Divination is the receptive/yin use of the tarot. Just as one might consider meditation as yin/receptive and prayer as active/yang, the same principle can be employed with the tarot. You can set up 12 circles of salt, or simply lay out out your tarot cards in the appropriate positions 1-12. Each position corresponds to an astrological house. To cast a spell, simply put the desired card in the appropriate house. This can take some skill to find the approriate house and card to accurately produce the intended result. To increase the power of your spell light a candle. To make your spell unstoppable, burn the card in the fire, however, this is not reccomended for anyone but advanced spellcasters. Watchout for red candles too, try and stick to white or blue or green. For love spells try an orange-red candle. Here's an example, say you want to attract a new lover, try putting the sun in your 8th house to increase your sexual magnetism. You want to attract money, put the emporer in your 2nd house. You want to gain hidden knowledge from a friend, put the priestess in the 12th house. You want to increase your psychic potential, put the moon in 8th or 12th house. You want your ill parent to get better, try the sun in the 4th or 10th house. You want to change careers, try the fool in the 10th house. You wish to have a better relationship with siblings, try temperance in the 3rd. Or with your partner, try the 7th. If you only want to have one effect, just place face down cards in the empty houses. Leave the intended card face up. Watchout for the death card, the devil, the world, the tower, and judgement, they are extremely powerful and not to be used lightly. IP: Logged |

Interesting.------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Lewis Carroll IP: Logged |

Wow, is there more on this like a book or manual! This sounds very cool and mysterious(very much into things like this). Why what happens with "The World" card when you try to use it?? At one time I actually entertained the idea of tattooing that card on my upper back, weird huh!?IP: Logged |

I have a book "Tarot Spells" by Janina Renee http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbninquiry.asp?ean=9780875426709&z=y There are some interesting ideas. I don't really like her affirmations though and prefer to use my own. Here is a good spell for banishing negative influences. It is best done during the waning Moon phase which is a good time for getting rid of unwanted things (vs waxing Moon which is good for attracting what you want) It is best to start on the first day of the waning Moon phase but you can do it later on too. Pick whatever cards you associate with negative situations that bother you i.e. 5 of Pentacles - financial problems, 3 of Swords - heartbreak, Devil - fears, temptations, etc. Arrange them in the circle and put The Moon card in the middle. On the top of Moon card place a saucer or a small bowl made of clear glass so you can see the card throught it. Fill it with water. It is best to place this arrangement some place where it will be lighted by the moon at night and leave it there until you done. Say the prayer and affirmation and then repeat it every night. The spell is finished on the night of The Black Moon. Most (or all) water will evaporate by then symbolically making your problems disappear. If there is any water left take it outside and pour on the ground. If the water is gone earlier just say one final affirmation and finish your spell then. IP: Logged |

Kamilla that's an awesome spell.....I like the use of water in spells instead of fire, its a safer and I like its power to heal.Libra- the world is very powerful because it represents a time of culmination in your life. I pulled the world when I was graduating from college. This is a good example of the world. Generally though, the world stands for abundance and a time of completion. You wouldn't want to use the world card on a project/area thats not ready to come to fruition yet, forcing sometihng to peak too early would not allow its full power to shine. IP: Logged |

I think these kinds of spells would be beneficial to do for yourself but I don't think people should be using them to influence others. Unless you are a Master, you don't have full positive control over your own energy. And Masters don't bother much with spellcasting or magic. I think even without intending to, people can negatively effect another by forcing their own desired outcomes. What you want may not be what someone else wants and could end up harming them. Even if you think you are trying for the highest outcome for those involved. I think if spellcasting works for you, this would be a great way to go though. And liked Kamilla's recipie for banishing negative influences. My unasked for two cents is, stick to working (or casting) on yourself. The rest falls into place. ------------------ God is, all else is a lie. IP: Logged |

Chrono, good point One has to consider though, that no individual is isolated, so casting a spell on yourself will ultimately affect others. We are all connected in a great web. IP: Logged |
