Here's the situation: I'm in love with a guy who lives in Texas. I'm in California. We were on the eve of taking a trip together, when he meets someone from his hometown. So we break it off, and just recently started posting each other again. As friends. I want more. I get readings that seem that he'll come back to me, and all my dreams come true (9 cups, Empress) but there are also those terrible 7/9/10 of swords and 5 of Pentacles!

3 queens appear. I'm an Earth sign, so I should be Pentacles, and I always saw her as the Queen of Rods. Then there's the Queen of Cups - could be either of us and our emotions!

Since he's far away, I have been in contact with a local man, a Taurus, so a King of Pentacles. Texas is a Sag, so a King of Rods. I get both of these interchangably, AND a King of Cups! Lots of red flags with local Mr. Taurus, though. (Reminds me a lot of my ex-husband!)

So confusing...

I suppose I'm asking for someone to see if they can throw cards for me and figure my 'very fine mess' out!

I'm hoping for that the Texas and I will get together!

So will we, or is it his hometown girl and not me that gets the Empress?

Reading 1--YOU and the Texan
1) The Past-THE FOOL
You fell for the Texan and it felt great--but you really have no idea who he really is. You fell much more for an idea or a fantasy than for the real guy. (Note that I'm reading THE FOOL here intuitively and in the context of the two other cards, not just on its own.)

2) The Present-10 of Swords
Right now, there's not much going on with you and Mr. Texas...things are disappointing and sad. Again, I'm picking up that you don't really know too much about his life...that you've never lived together, had the kind of sex where you really connect intimately and deeply, or gotten very close in person. If I'm wrong, it may be that the Texan closes himself off or is feeling grief. But I don't think so! I'm getting that you're not talking about a real relationship.

3) The Future-7 of Cups
Illusion. Again...it looks like whatever you have or don't have with the Texan will stay in the realm of fantasy, whatever he decides to do. My advice: either drop it, or, if you are very serious, arrange to spend a lot of time with him IN PERSON. He might not be open to this...but according to my read (and this card, especially), you are so lost in thinking and fantasizing about this (and possibly other relationships) that you aren't really HAVING relationships.

I'm pretty darn active in 'real life' as well... playing tennis with my regular group of guys twice a week, riding about 100 miles a week, often in group rides with my bike club. I go regularly to the gym...I'm just not meeting anyone who's humor matches mine so well! And as a public school teacher, I'm doing lots of 'volunteer work' in the context of work!

BUT true, my dreaming with Texan doesn't seem too promising other than being 'pen pals'

Thanks for taking the time to throw the cards. I've been getting those cards with many others, but I'm thinking the 3 card throw really gets to the point!

I am curious about that 10 swords, 'cause I know I used the word 'love', and I do love his humor and love him as a friend that I can post with, but I really don't feel heartbroken at all...should I be bracing myself for something? Yike! My deck has a prone figure with all 10 swords in his back - the WORSE pain, ouch card in the deck! Now I'm worried what's around the corner!
