I've been practicing Tarot extensively for the past 7+ years and am a fairly good reader. I know the general interpretations of the King of Swords. However he's recently been coming up a lot for me and I can't seem to find ANY authors who describe him positively. I don't believe any card in Tarot is all negative or all positive, but I'm frustrated I can't find more gentle interpretations. What would you say about a King of Swords personality in reality? They're usually more rational than emotional. Work would be sales, law, anything mental rather than physical. A good judge of character and will tend to make choices with his head rather than his heart. Should be good with numbers and articulate. He's the intelligent one out of all the kings. The thinker. He's not necessarily analytical but should still be good at taking all sides of the issue in to account. Erm, don't know what else to say about him. Good conversationalist usually. Likes ambition and can be ambitious. My blogpost on him http://arachnesthreads.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/king-of-swords.html IP: Logged |

One, I love your layout. I was also wondering what deck your card example for the King of Swords is from? Who would he get on well with? I usually come up as the Queen of Cups or the Queen of Wands which seems so opposite of the King of Swords. IP: Logged |

The pic was from a deviantart poster http://blood4thine.deviantart.com/art/Tarot-King-Of-Swords-121034680 I had a quick look through his stuff and it doesn't look like he did a full deck. Wands and swords usually get along fine but the Queen of Cups might feel that the King of Swords isn't always as sensitive as she needs him to be. IP: Logged |

Sounds like a typical relationship, lol. So how does the King of Swords get his feelings hurt, receive love, show love? Every time I see him he just reminds me of a strong but silent type who never shares what he's thinking (the RWS version reminds me of that anyway) someone who keeps their cards close to their chest. Also, I wish there was an actual deck like that. I really really like the imagery and the filter he put on it.IP: Logged |

There is a similar style...maybe the Archeon Tarot?https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=archeon+tarot&hl=en&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=DrNLUKG4L8aa1AWR54HQBg&ved=0CDIQsAQ&biw=1366&bih=667 The King of Swords will talk as long as there's not too much emotional pressure. It needs to be a discussion rather than a heart to heart. He'll give and receive love through words, sharing his ideas and ideals. He'll be aloof if he needs his space. The swords nearly always share what they're thinking but feelings aren't something they like to deal with unless there's a high level of maturity in both parties. they don't like emotional manipulation and can generally smell it a mile off. Everyone is capable of being hurt but it's an individual thing as to what their exact buttons are. But, he probably wouldn't like it if his thoughts weren't taken in to consideration. IP: Logged |
