i'd read that as emotions fluctuating at the speed of lightening due to the past, so yes there is a lot of 'emotional' movement.

Best to always take the first 'read' you have done with the cards & not repeat the topic unless something changed in the situation.

Don't forget the 8 wands is also about endings. I think all your cards show that you still really like him, but his focus is not with you. He moved on and focusses on his own life.
