Topic: Can Cups still indicate action in Tarot?

I had asked someone to read for me and my question was if another person will contact me in X month. She got 3 of Cups 10 of Cups and King of Cups and told me "Yes they will contact you." However, I'm doubting this reading because there's no wands and there's no swords. Can Cups still indicate action being taken?IP: Logged |

I used to ask questions about contact all the time and wands/swords usually came within hours/days particularly if they were pages. Cups took days/weeks. Never was patient enough to wait on pentacles lol. Cups can still indicate action, but I will say for me it took more time that I cared to wait and a lot of times it was more "fluff" than anything else. Of course wands ALWAYS indicated some kind of booty call. Swords were my favorite, usually brought decent straight forward conversation.IP: Logged |

Hi hanna,I would speculate it depends on the cards pulled. 3 cups = get together
10 cups = being around loved ones
knight of cups = coming to someone with a good message so in this case I'd say yes. in this case apparently this is a person you are favourably disposed towards? PS I'm sorry this got moved, must be inconvenient for all of us, but nothing to be done T_T IP: Logged |

^ yeah sorry about thisking of cups is passion/benevolence/open-ness you're perfectly right he bears no messages ------ so, to make a comment on timeframes, I don't think there was a clue as to timeframes in these cards, the focus seems to be on feelings/energies somehow what you are right about is: if there was 8 wands here somewhere we'd be able to talk about a certain imminence of this contact on the other hand though if we had 9 wands it would indicate communication being withheld. so there's like no way of saying all wands speed things up but then I am not great at distinguishing between meanings of the cards and timeframes. because really 9 wands could mean what? second decan of Gemini. 9 days? months? weeks? Normally I would assume it might be worth pulling an additional card as an answer to a "when" question and maybe see what kind of system elaborates itself ----------

Just taking that all the cups mean that this is a love interest (or someone with whom you feel very connected like a good friend), is that correct?
3 of cups still means 'happy outcome'/'connection', 'reunion between friends'.

Yes, it was an autumn month! And yes someone I'm connected to! In essence what I'm learning is just because there's no wands or Swords in here does not mean "no contact" whatsoever (now or in future readings I do for others) it's just perhaps a different energy of contact? IP: Logged |

I agree. Maybe that's my what my gut is telling me... that yes, this person will contact me but not the month asked about. It's unknown when, but yes there will be contact hence the vagueness of Cups. ----------

^ well I just made an observation in a postscript, obvs couldn't foresee Jessica would be willing to start cluttering your thread. I am not a clairvoyante and hope I'll never become one. But I can relate to your wish not to have your threads cluttered with rubbish. Talk about treating others the way you wanna be treated. Note taken tho and sorry about this. This month is nearly over, isn't it? Well it's first the card meanings & their connection. The quickness of the element can say something about speed, but more often you'll find a relation to the topic in it.
