Recently I saw a deck in a bookstore, and considered purchasing one. When quoted the price I was stunned. Can anyone tell me about these decks? IP: Logged |

Well, they're Antique, he said. But if you guys don't know a thing about them, probably hardly worth the purchase. IP: Logged |

Hi Ellyn. the lenormand is a deck of 36 cards, that is usual read in combinations.there is a French, German, Russian, Dutch etc school...but the first two are the most widespread one's. This is good at answering everyday questions,(will the trip happen 2moro, will it cost me a lot, what can i expect if i do so and so) and are quite less cryptic than other readings. in origin, it is based on 'the game of chance' a German toy maker had made, then a famous fortune teller, Mmm Lenormand as she was known, took them and turned them to a fortune telling tool that worked well. she is most famous for her famous clients like Napolean Bonaparte... anyway how much did this guy quote you, as they are widely available all over the place and shouldn't really cost that much. Why dont you just try one of the 'normal' one's available all over the place? I found them quite accurate with me. and much easier to read than the tarot. (and again they both answer different things ) okay i think that is enough information about it for now, hope that cleared stuff a little for you IP: Logged |

Thank You So Much!Really nice to see you. He said $120.00 because they were pre-U.S. Games and were on much thicker boardstock. They did look very old... IP: Logged |

The lenormand cards that I simply love The guilded reverie lenormand deck. They are beautiful cards I bought them on amazon for 20.00 I have looked at several decks but these are just beautiful so I bought them and I noticed many people using this deck after I purchased. Maybe they will catch your eye as well. IP: Logged |

O_O....well only if you liked them a lot and are planning to frame them at home but otherwise if you want them for reading, not because they are beautiful, just order them for much cheaper from elsewhere! always very good speaking to you to Ellyn ...but for now i've got to get off this forum... Gilded Reverie. Sounds really nice. I think he said Greek. I just saw the box in the case, it was only after I thought it over that I called him back and asked. Not sure which one, actually, but they did look cool and VERY old. I do like old things.

Lenormand Cards are well known in Germany. Did you know that Madame Lenormand was the fortune-teller of empress Josephine, the wife of Napoleon? However, the Lenormand Cards that are available here look quite different: http://www.stregato.de/blog/wp-content/uploads/lenormand-altenburg1.jpg IP: Logged |
