Q: What are J's feelings for me?

A: Strength clarified by 9 of Swords.

It's a weird combo.

I kind of feel like it's saying the feelings are there and he feels like he's controlling himself around me because of being afraid of chasing me off? What do you think?

I think he's scared of getting hurt but he's being mature (wise) about it and controlling his primitive fear.

I was told in an exchange that I am the one stopping the relationship from progressing and I thought wth, he does not have a clue about how I feel T__T.

I recently received 9 of Wands and Sun separately when asking his view of me.

I'm not sure how to express to him that it's okay without running up to him and saying directly, "I like you!"

ETA : You're the glorious beast, but he's bit apprehensive. After all, it's your yaws he's facing. There's attraction, confirmed by Sun card (Leo connections, Sun card, Strength). But it is also something that disturbs his peace. You're a mouthful. Challenge. There's blockage, for sure, 9 of either Wands or Swords.

Does Strength signify the type of feelings to control?

With the 9 of wands, and Sun, he may be thinking you only like him as a friend. But yes, like Venus says there seems to be block on your end, like he doesn't quite know how to approach you.

You should ask on what you can do on your end to improve this. For example ask, "Whats the best way to let ___ know how I feel about him?", or "What can I do to help my relationship with ___", or "Is there anything I can do to promote a romantic relationship with ___". Using a variation of one of those questions with possibly a few follow up cards should help you get a better answer.
