Topic: Overall impression of our date?

I think he's emotionally unavailable. We met through an online dating site and he was the only guy that I actually liked in person too. But we didn't speak for a while and I had asked him if he was still interested in hanging out, he said only as friends because that's all he can offer right now. So if I think about the question with the cards and this, the emotional openness and receptivity of the Queen is kinda hacked off by Justice. He liked me, had a decent time, but logic prevails. Yes I do. I tend to read the cards linearly from left to right since that's how I read language, if I grew up reading Arabic it may be different, and tarot cards is a language of sorts the way reading music is. Justice- ace of cups, I would see as a decision that has been weighted carefully, to have an open heart and let love in. It's not a rash decision made a split second notice so it would temper the ace a bit, make it a bit more practical. IP: Logged |

That is very interesting. CAuse I actually had that line, today. 8 of swords - Justice - Ace of Cups I would read it as a line, too, with Ace of Cups as the end of the sentence, but have been talking to Venus Di Sirius who said she sometimes sees the first as central card. Here in this spread I think actually hte Juststice card could overshadow everything.  IP: Logged |

With your cards I see more or less with what I said. The 8 of swords are being stripped away allowing room for love, both from others and self-love. IP: Logged |

I see what you mean, I too associate tarot with the language. I think the linear reading as you call it world be great with the spreads regarding time, development, the description of people but I find that I need a 3D approach when it comes to what's-going-on spreads. It's how my brain works, anyways.  The type of spread also tends to dictate the rules - I am very linear when it comes to CC, for example. Could the man be legally unavailable? I like that interpretation.
I could see however also the interpretation of Venus, Justice showing legal matters, someone in a relationship, which forces him to make a rational decision instead of following an emotional whim, and thus his hands are tied for any kind of communication (8 of swords).
I mean relating that to my spread, not yours. lol
Well, I think the basic meaning of Justice is really that rational weighing up and coming to a decision, the reasons for this could be multilayered actually.

It's fascinating how we all have our own little ways!I look for majors, I also look at the center card that's more telling than all the cards except if there are majors among the spread. I also look at the cards at the end of the spread. MY impression of this spread is the date went on fine, was enjoyable for both of them however since the spread ends with a major card and Justice is 11 that is 1+1, I refer it to the 2 of swords card, with the hanged man, it seems he is not receptive to the part of having spent a good time, like he doesn't want to have fun but he wants to be sad and hurting... Jessica and Venus you guys may be onto something here. But it may not be so deep....there's a but I don't know. He mentioned that things have been a bit crazy for him and that he's not dating because it's unfair to put that kind of stress on anyone. So in a way it reflects the HM sorta him retreating and not being active because he thinks it's the right thing to do. And also he was really tired. Like his eyes were bloodshot red. I'm not expecting a crazy romance but he seemed like he could handle my quirks and even laughed at some of them so idk..maybe we can be friends. At this point there's no emotional attachment for either of us. IP: Logged |

I think you already nailed it here.
Was a good date, you are lovely - you had drinks  - were on the same level, but there's other stuff to handle first, which he already made clear & he was honest about that.
Perhaps you can ask a future orientated question if you really like him.

That is very similiar to how i do it, too, or did it so far. Unless there is a major in it, I tend to see the middle card as focus, and the flanking cards as elaborating on it, though the right card I often find to be pointing into the future, what is going to possibly evolve,
however i tis not a firm rule, sometimes the cards put themselves together differently. lol IP: Logged |

Actually no drinks were had, just a movie and it was raining when we got out. I'm not sure if I really want to truth be told. Again there is not emotional attachment at this point, and while he seems nice I usually don't make an effort with someone unless I have some sort of attachment to them or if they reciprocate interest in spending time together. I had asked if he was the guy I was supposed to date in September (apparently a good time for my love life coming up) but I forgot the combination of the cards so I'm asking again- 7 of swords- wheel- 9 of pentacles Looks like it's saying I'll remain single... I think the original was something like Wheel-5 of rods- Kind of Discs. As soon as I saw the wheel in this spread it triggered the memory. IP: Logged |
