I think he's confused as to his personal level of satisfaction (which in turn affects his attitude towards your relationship).

He's hard at mulling over things.

That makes sense, we are in a holding pattern right now...He wants a more physical relationship but knows i don't. I think he is hesitant as to whether he wants to just remain friends or not.
