How many cards to pull for someone's feelings?

I usually pull four but I think it's overkill and I get really confused.

I have heard with a 3 card spread,

1 means physically
2 means mentally
3 means spiritually

Anythoughts?

That is an interesting idea of a spread, but I would go with:

1. physically (physical attraction)
2. emotionally (feelings)
3. mentally/spiritually (admiring your mind/spirit)

There's another possible combo in relation to the love houses in astrology:

1. feelings/emotions/love (5th house)
2. physical attraction (8th)
3. his intentions- what kind of partner he sees in you/if he sees you as a partner (7th house)

I did one for myself and got:

Book - feelings/emotions- he must be hiding his feelings or they are growing/evolving or he feels a spiritual connection

Tree - physical attraction - the attraction seems rooted and growing with time

Me (Woman) - intentions; possibly seeing me as a good partner

------------------

I seem to have loved you in numberless forms...

What would the fourth card be?

Did a four card spread on a man I was previously involved with but told him it would be better if we were just friends.

Knight of cups R
5 of cups
Tower
Empress

I like especially the second spread, Lee!

Usually I think pulling four cards for feelings alone is a bit of an overkill, unless they are being read as combinations.
in fact if i do a 3 cards spread, I read that as combo. WEll actually I follow Venus di Sirius approach (most of the time), the first card the central answer, the other two explaining the first card.

But whatever it is, it depends on what intention we put into the cards.

So we just have to have a clear perception of what the fourth card would be about, and that is what it is going to answer.

Nevertheless I am going to try out your spread, Lee, with lenny and tarot.

1. physically: SCYTHE

2. emotionally: HOUSE

3. intentions: KEY

EDIT
I am not sure why, but my tarot cards do not talk to me at the moment. They feel off, so I have to give it a rest. (if they talk, they feel warm and flexible in my hand; the tarot cards now felt sticky and stiff and stringy somehow).

I was considering though, wouldn`t it make more sense to pull 2 lennys for each position as they are usually read in pairs?

EDIT:
I am not sure that really worked, maybe cause I had already pulled for this question:

physical: Book and Gentleman

emotional: Moon and Cross

intentions: snake and coffin

But I feel VERY unsure about these spreads, so maybe they are totally off

What is Venus di Sirius approach?

Is the spread above the approach?

In a 3 cards tarot spread, you use the first card as the key card, the answer to the question, the other two cards explain or elaborate on the answer.
AT least that is how I understood her.

I would draw for you, but at the moment it feel all very off to me. Of course it might be that I just can`t draw on myself currently.
Do you want me to give it a try for you and that man, in terms of how he feels about you wanting to keep it at a distance?

I asked the same question a couple of days ago (except I asked what does he "Think" about me and got:
Scythe-cross-house
Interesting Ceri you and I pulled almost the exact same cards.

This is even a greater idea, much clearer, plus it is an exercise about understanding pairs.
Combining your 2spreads, I get:

physical: a secret is revealed about this man and his attraction to you

emotional: familiarity, perhaps a motherly, warm vibe, some pain but mostly fate. I think cross in the last position is mostly like a "seal". When cross is before a card, it intensifies that card.

intentions: key - snake - coffin is intriguing and very strong. to me snake coffin usually points to a major transformation. but let's not forget snake also means a woman, the other woman. Open to interpretations here lol

I like Venus's idea of a spread

I'm overworking the cards myself lol but I'm gonna practice with these now

So I pulled one for my day tomorrow, Venusdi Sirius Style lol

Tower House Lily

home alone hahahaha let's see what kind of Lily will be there

Then I tried your idea with 2 cards for 8th-5th-7th

What does he feel about me?

emotional
Book Woman wow I got the same, so I'm on the right track here

physical

Mountain + Coffin what could this be??

intentions

Ring + Cross

Personally, I prefer to draw the emotional/feeling/love first, I think it's the most important part of the question "what someone feels".

"physical: a secret is revealed about this man and his attraction to you"
Yes, could be. Might also be a secret attraction.

"emotional: familiarity, perhaps a motherly, warm vibe, some pain but mostly fate. I think cross in the last position is mostly like a "seal". When cross is before a card, it intensifies that card."
I agree with your interpretation of the cross. It might also mean, adding to that, that the emotional attraction that is clearly present (Moon) is a source of pain to him, too.

"intentions: key - snake - coffin is intriguing and very strong."
Yes, it is quite the exclamationmark. lol

" to me snake coffin usually points to a major transformation. but let's not forget snake also means a woman, the other woman. Open to interpretations here lol"
Yes, and in this case the other woman is me. *sighs*
maybe it means he wants to end this secrecy, which could mean either cutting me from his life totally or bringing this connection on a different level. or just making a decision about what he really wants of me, or what he wants me to be. I don`t know to be honest.

"Mountain + Coffin what could this be??"
maybe ending a blockage in his physical expression of attraction?

"intentions

Ring + Cross"

a fated relationship? or a karmic one?

"Personally, I prefer to draw the emotional/feeling/love first, I think it's the most important part of the question "what someone feels"."
I also think it is the most important one, but for me that is exactly the reason why I draw for the physical aspect, first, to start slowly maybe. lol

maybe also cause usually the physcial aspect comes first, before you get awareness of the emotional resonance.
