That`s nunsense! (what your mother said).

Most women in the academic world here in GErmany do not have a child before turning 30, which has to do with the lenght of the education here.

My best friend had her first child when she was 31; she is now due with her fourth child at the age of 38 (actually I am a little worried, have not heard from her in a long time now, hope everything is okay, but the first three children she conceived and gave birth to without any complications).

She is the most devoted loving mother you can imagine, yet has enough rules to ensure her children are being educated well.
Of course she has a wonderful husband at her side who supports her and loves her totally, and they are very much an unit in family-terms.

In fact had she had her children 10 years earlier, it would probably have been a disaster, as she had a lot to juggle then in terms of personal problems (insecurity, depression, two quite traumatic relationships and breakups etc.).
