For the person you asked...

Well, 2 of swords in the begining of the spread shows that this person is a peace maker! He doesn't like to fight for any reason, he prefer to play the diplomtic in the stressful situation. But as you said in the topic, the core card is the main one and I see him as the Hermit. Someone who loves to be alone to find the hard quests of life as "who am I". He solves his conflicts in meditation.

Mirroring 2 of Swords with the 5 of cups, I see why this guy is somehow a peace maker: he lost a lot inthe field of love and the confidence he had in others. He once trusted in people, as an innocent person, but after a lot of troubles, heart broken and even "lying naked on the floor" feelings, he just observe now. For him, I see that is very difficult to believe in people in the first contact, believe in the first time he sees this person.

Justice and 3 of Swords tells me that all those pain he felt was needed for form his character, where the Universe tries to balance karma through situations that for us are very dramatic and painful, but the Universe wants him to learn those things, to balance his karma through it all. As Justice in my physical deck is Lady Athene, I see that learning is a nice thing...

His archetype is Gandalf, one that passed the pain, learning and reborn as a calm and peaceful person...
