He was spying on me for a man who was and may still be in love with me. But now that its over I just don't understand why he won't tell me the truth. Maybe he feels like he doesn't want to betray the person? The man who spied is the King of Wands and the man who loved/loves me is the King of Cups.
So, is it a pride thing? Do they feel upset about being found out, or were not expecting me to confront him?

I asked if they are still talking.

the lovers
eight of pentacles
ten of wands

I don't personally think they are. But they definitely have in the past week. I think either the King of Wands(spy) or person he was spying for, King of cups has decided to drop the burden of it. That it is just too much work.
What do you all see?

If he is currently doing this, I think that there could be several things that he may be trying to do.
1. He may want to see how you are doing to figure out if he has a chance to rekindle things in the future. Admitting this might would cause you not to want something in the future as it may be too intense for you or he may feel like you would judge him for it.
2. It may be his own comfort to know that you are ok and doing well as he still cares for you.
3. He may use this information to find ways to connect to you in some way.

Hopefully it is innocent and nothing bad results from the situation.

I find that sometimes, for whatever reasons for some to admit would one possibly land them in trouble or that they may be too ashamed to admit it.
