For anyone who hasn't read Gooberz.. this is from Linda's Star Notes. It's a letter she received from a major publisher when she was trying to get Gooberz published...He wrote - QUOTE "I've just immersed myself in that wonderful sea of insight, passion and conviction called Gooberz. The material here goes far beyond that of your past books. There is a quality to this extraordinary work that sets it aside from them. The effect of it's very uniqueness is bewildering to today's publisher's. It's not a linear book. In fact, it's not a book at all, but an experience. "In today's publishing, everyone feels the need to be able to say in two sentences what a book is. If you can't, then confusion reigns. First I say to my superiors that it's a new Linda Goodman book. The response is, 'Great! Intriguing!' Then I have to tell them that it's not going to be the Linda Goodman they know, but a side of Linda's personal experience that offers a new dimension of her and provides inspiration for her readers. "Then the next response, 'Wonderful, but what is it?' Well, I reply, it's an autobiography. Linda's personal path to enlightenment. Yet, it's more than that. It's a book about reincarnation and death. No, it's more than that. It's a book about twin souls, Twin Selves and Love. No, it's more than that. In the end, all these attempts to play the publishing game of labels fals, because in truth, the book is magic. 'Great!', they answer, 'Magic what?' Magic in and of itself. 'Oh, they respond, 'you mean it's about astrology.' No. It's beyond that. You'll have to trust me. The final response is 'Uh, well uh...I don't think it's for us. Our market people can't categorize it.' What it really is...is everyone's personal biography - everyone's star quest for truth, I tell them. But by now, they don't hear anything I say. I believe the solution is to publish Gooberz over a period of five years, small books of about 200 pages each, and then we could gradually...etc, etc." UNQUOTE Well as we know, that didn't fly with Linda. But I loved the publisher's explination of what Gooberz is. Simply put..It's magical! ------------------ "I'm selfish, impatient, & a little insecure. Hi winkaway...Did you type that yourself? I am just curious, as I've only seen StarNotes where you have to copy the whole image and not just the content. Curious to know.... IP: Logged |

Hello... yeah I copied that. I love that one.. And you see here every now and then where people are asking what Gooberz is like. I thought that was a good one to show people since you can almost feel the excitement they were feeling at the time.

I just finished "Star Signs" and I was thinking about this. She said she had to finish it first before "Gooberz" could be out there for the public eye. I'm not sure where I'm going with this, but she wanted to publish that Robert Brewer at the same time. I have seen other things that went in the same direction, limited copies out there, at that time, I think. When did "Gooberz" finally hit the presses? The Announcement said Halloween-ish eighty nine. What I was wondering was; was it the time? These things weren't ready to be before the public eye? Or were the tests more of a personal/Universal nature, that of the Author? I am thinking of other things in the works from late sixties/early seventies that had a very hard time seeing the light of day, only to finally emerge from the shell; as it were, after this amount of a gestation period. Guess I'll have to Study the Ephemeris for myS-elf, ha. IP: Logged |

And of course, I am thinking of my own experience here.I am up in the air on receiving mine. Four Planets are Stationary as I write this, and here it sits in the Bookstore, awaiting on you all... (to paraphrase George, as it were...) IP: Logged |
