i hear that a lot....i'm just praying i'll understand it....i'v always had problems with understanding poetry------------------ I once saw a sign that said "sin is death" but if "all deaths are suicide (linda goodman)" and suicide is sin, then shouldnt "death is sin" be more appropriate? when organic is used to describe food then you know we have come to a dark age in history IP: Logged |

Most of it isn't poetry. It's just formatted like it. Read it like any of her books. It does have some of her poems in it, but not much.------------------ "Nurture great thoughts, for you will never go higher than you think."--DISRAELI IP: Logged |

Mid last year when I first purchased Sun Signs, it was just before I was heading up north with a very close friend of mine, coincidentally to an old gold mining town approximately 6 hours north of where I currently live (this was before I started reading, I planned to read while I was away). My dear friend had talked me into going as she had felt like she had been there before and that it was a beautiful place, and I agreed once I had been there.I started reading Sun Signs that very night. It was a very intriguing book which I struggled to put down. Later after I finished the book, I was having dinner and drinks with a few friends we had made there, and a man I had never met before. Out of all the people there, no one appeared to really like him, however he had a intense interest in me and my thoughts. I actually wrote down a lot about our meeting, I will have to get my journal to remember. I guess I will share it word for word, although a bit personal... "I have come across many a coincidental thing since I have begun my life long journey discovering the terrifically hidden secrets of the universe. Almost literally as soon as I opened up my mind to certain ideas, a stranger walked into my life with the most curious of questions. The first distinct thing mentioned although I did not notice it at the time, was this man mentioning receiving light treatment for a skin condition (which obviously made me think of the Colours and Melodies chapter - even though I feel this to be somewhat coincidental and not completely relative). The next coincidental conversation would have to be when my dear friend had a significant mood change, and I could have sworn I heard him whipper under his breath, "oh the colours". So I timidly attempted to mention, although I was afraid of misinterpreting, the Aura and the Etheric. However, I decided against my timid approach and felt I would just dive right into the deep end, (as I only had just met these people and will most likely never see them again). The response was most unexpected yet appreciated. He began to question me about my understanding of the topic without providing any information of his own. From that moment, his interest in my increased. A discussion of religion and metaphysics erupted between the three of us in the crowded room, and of course the topic of astrology entered the arena. My dear friend then asked the inevitable question - his response was to make it guessing game. My friend suggested Scorpio almost immediately. I considered my answer briefly but I had already made my assumption, but his response to the question almost misguided my response. I then revealed my response, "Pisces, you're a Pisces". He then proceeded to question again, "Are you sure?" and had my almost doubting my judgement. "Pisces, oh Pisces". He then told us the story of Pandora, which I had not heard for many years (and obviously had not read between the lines previously) and thought to myself, could it be that all Religions are truly the same but over the years, story after story, has it all been misconstrued, and we all actually believe the same concept and express our faith in different manners? Pandora's Box is curiously like the Forbidden Fruit. Later he noticed my hidden tattoo of the Eye of Horus. He then questioned me on how I access my Third Eye. He question whether I knew how to control it or whether it only came to me in certain times of knowing. I considered my answer, which I normally never do, but he had me doing all night, and graciously replied, "At this point in time, no I am not able to control my Third Eye, but I know one day I will see." He seemed to already know my response and simply smiled. He had also queried me earlier on the Laws of Attraction, which I did over look at the time as I had not thought of the idea under that particular title. (Imagine it, Ordain it). The conversations continued on, to what I thought was late in the night, (which only turned out to be less than an hour) and unfortunately I cannot recall all of which we discussed. However, I do remember him raising the topic of affirmations/quotes we live our lives by. After a lot of discussion, I mentioned "Always be kind to strangers as you never know when you are entertaining angels unaware." He then asked me to repeat myself. (I was unaware at the time that this was a slight variation of the quote originally in the Bible) He then looked at me curiously with a sly grin that only I could see. I then remember in Linda Goodman's Sun Signs "So... how well do you really know that wise friend who's been enlightening you regarding various New Age ideas and ideals? Remember that biblical warning that one may entertain angels unaware." I wish I had written more at the time, but all the conversations were slipping from my conscious memory incredibly fast as if they didn't want to be remember on paper.
I'm not so sure why I am sharing this, maybe because I have never shared it before. Any thoughts are welcome, whether you think I am looking too far into things or maybe if he could have been my first personal Guru, I'm not sure. IP: Logged |

There is a picture of Linda sitting on the beach with her right hand pointing to her head...as if to say, "think." Linda was an Aries, which rules the head, so that might be the reason, but it seems to be more than that. But here is the mystery: In the hardcover first edition, Linda is wearing a red watch on her left wrist. In subsequent editions, there is the exact same picture, but there is no watch! Linda credits Bill Robbins with taking her photo. I sure would love to talk to him!
Mine has this, and Thirty Four Stars. Trying to read the Clockface, difficult.
