Hew-woo ------------------ Ask Me anything. Anything. I will contrive to bring you the answer. The whole universe will I use to do this. So be on the lookout. This book is far from My only tool. You may ask a question, then put this book down. But watch. Listen. The words to the next song you hear. The information in the next article you read. The story line of the next movie you watch. The chance utterance of the next person you meet. Or the whisper of the next river, the next ocean, the next breeze that caresses your ear—all these devices are Mine; all these avenues are open to Me. I will speak to you if you will listen. I will come to you if you will invite Me. I will show you then that I have always been there. All ways. ♥ IP: Logged |

Not really. Just post your thoughts as you go. You can add quotes from the chapters. You can respond to others' thoughts. No real structure--just open discussion.------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Let's start with the title. Linda's publishers liked for her to put her name in her book titles, and she wanted a good numerological vibration from the title. BTW, as a side note, "numerological" contains the words "magic" and "logical." Linda Goodman's Star Signs is a perfect title for this book. It comes to a 19--The Prince Of Heaven, which is a very favorable vibration, indeed. What are Star Signs? Linda tells us in her subtitle: The Secret Codes Of The Universe. After you read this book, you will notice Star Signs everywhere. They are confirmations of being on the right path, hints of which direction to go in, and assurances that everything will be all right when all you can think about is how everything is all wrong. A Star Sign is a message just for you. Yes, in this vast Uni-verse, we are infinitesimal by comparison, yet we are still important enough for Spirit to single us out and send us a sign...a Star Sign. Never underestimate your importance or your worth. We are all extensions of the same Divine. This book will help open your third eye, so that your other two can see some of the Star Signs that bombard us each and every day. So, are these "Codes Of The Universe" complicated to understand? Linda explains further on her book cover by stating: "A Practical Guide For The New Age." Esoteric topics can be overwhelmingly difficult to ascertain their validity. Linda takes some of these ancient secrets (some that were closely guarded and shrouded in secrecy) and synthesizes them in such a way that the average lay person can understand them. But not just understand...utilize. Hence the word "practical." Linda not only exposes us to ancient wisdoms, but she shows us how to apply that workable knowledge in our daily lives. Hence the word "guide." All of this culled from just a title. I can't wait to get to the inside and start diving in. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." The back cover contains a secret...or perhaps a message to us from Linda--if not Linda, from the synchronistic Uni-verse. There is a picture of Linda sitting on the beach with her right hand pointing to her head...as if to say, "think." Linda was an Aries, which rules the head, so that might be the reason, but it seems to be more than that. But here is the mystery: In the hardcover first edition, Linda is wearing a red watch on her left wrist. In subsequent editions, there is the exact same picture, but there is no watch! Linda credits Bill Robbins with taking her photo. I sure would love to talk to him! ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." There is something there, Randall. She IS trying to tell us something. The fingers are so lovingly and deliberately placed on her face, very close to her eyes and her eyes are giving a message. Although on the back of my cover, her eyes are kind of blurry, but, they still penetrate me. Underneath the word Contents there are 29 stars but a space between the 28th and 29th star. The space, IMO is there too show that the numbers may be significant. The Trusting Lamb - 28 Grace Under Pressure - 29

I just now noticed for the very first time that there is a different sub-subtitle on the first page (different from the book cover, which says "A Practical Guide For The New Age"). The one inside says: "Forgotten Rainbows and Forgotten Melodies of Ancient Wisdom." We are all fallen Angels, and so it is not so much about learning as it is re-MEMBERing. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." For those who read Gooberz, Linda ackowledges that Robert Brewer (the love of her life) was consulting editor. I never noticed that before either! Her dedications are very interesting. And, of course, she mentions her children: Sally, Bill, Michael, and Jill.------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Her eyes are very clear on the hardcover copies...and in color. Such a stunning picture! Her bare feet are buried in the sand with her footprints behind her. Her eyes are deeply penetrating. This is probably no accidental pose. She seems to have given it some thought. But I have 34 stars on my copy! That has the same meaning as 25: Discrimination and Analysis. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." I just read the Preface, and all I can say is WOW! Linda pulled no punches. She is a Ram all the way. She speaks of the dangers of false prophets, the perils of money exchanging hands between esoteric teacher and student, and how to find one's very own Guru. This quote from Linda really struck me with its alarming validity: "You must remember that, under Universal Law, Light shining from a mountaintop will inevitably attract the darkness." Her analogy of Oz was quite fitting, and even though many are being led astray by false prophets today, she quotes lyrics from a song: "I believe for everyone who's gone astray...someone will come, to show the way." Quite! She says that partial truth--the seeds of wisdom--can be found in many places, but real Truth can only be found within. And she urges us not to accept her Truths as our own. "We may point out the path to others, but each must walk along that path alone--until every single "lost one" has made the whole journey--and all of us have finally reached the Light of full-born Wisdom at the end of the Way...where we began, a long-forgotten time ago." oh spine tingles! I feel like I'm reliving the magic of Linda again and discovering things for the very first time. I have started but will finish up this part tonight! I will post soon. Brilliant Randall. ------------------ “It’s an interesting thing. Seeing Kuan Yin relating to a flower so intently. She's not just looking at it; she's interacting with it…I’m seeing how the act of relating to a flower appears to be so simple. Yet, it takes a tremendous amount of courage to make such a “simple” act important. Now, the lotus is floating away.” IP: Logged |

In the Introduction, Linda explains that this book is based upon a diary she kept in Colorado in 1970. It all started at the haunted suite 1217 (now renumbered as 1221) at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. On New Year's Day in January of 1970, a stranger knocked on her door...the turbaned one. This was her first contact with her first Guru, and it set off a lot of things in motion. She quickly learned of his favorite word of approval: "Quite." He tells her she will go to the mountains and meet her Twin Self and write of all she learns from the other Gurus she will encounter there. They talk for hours, and at some point in the conversation, she realizes that she needs to tape it. At some point, Linda looks down at the 90-minute tape, and it had run out; she had no idea when, but then she notices that only a minute or so had passed since she turned on the tape! That was a lesson he taught her in the illusion of "time." Her Guru gives her other tidbits about time. He tells her that the word "simultaneously" contains "no time" and "time is a lie." Linda learns about the Higher Dimension of Time, the Eternal Now. Linda ponders the two words "lonely" and "lovely" and wonders how two words could be so similar yet have such different meanings. The turbaned one tells her that the difference is the third word hiding in one of them: The word lovely contains the word love; the word lonely does not. "Love is all," he tells her. The Lexigram seed was planted with Linda on that New Year's Day. The turbaned one disappears into thin air leaving only a box of Goober's peanuts and a business card that only says in the center--in small violet letters: EXPECT A MIRACLE. Linda meets a friend in February in New York on a snowy day for lunch, and her friend had just left from a vacation in Colorado--in a little town called Cripple Creek. That was a sign. Linda chose to move there...mainly to test her Guru's predictions. That is where she completed her second book, Love Signs (only Sun Signs had been published at this point). She kept a diary, which would turn into Star Signs, and in April of 1970 she began a journey that would encompass learning many secrets from different teachers, and she would endure several personal tragedies (but saved those for Gooberz). She promises the reader that in this particular book, she will only write about the magic. Everything her Guru told her would happen does--some of it quite unexpected. She ends the Introduction with an amazing poem about Cripple Creek. What deserves special mention from the Introduction is a riddle her Guru gave her. He tells her that she and her Twin Self will have their reunion in December of 1970. She wonders why he calls it a reunion when they have never met before. Here is his response: "You will not be meeting for the first time. You have lived countless lives together in former incarnations--even in this present one." "Even in this present one." Can anyone solve that riddle? I solved it. I will reveal it if no one else does. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." My theory is that she meets this editor guy, that he's a Leo?I also don't know the history of Linda, but for some reason I suspect they don't stay together??? Regardless, I like the part about how he says that if they fail in loving each other, they can become fallen angels... I think that's very accurate and true. IP: Logged |

That's not the answer to the riddle. But they meet, and what happens to them is tragic. But that's a story for another time and place (in Gooberz). ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you."
